Tina Nixon shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Tina, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
After days of work going home to see my dog makes me super happy also talking to my mom, sister, grandma, nieces and nephews on the phone until I travel to see them is kinda a completion of my day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi my name is Tina Nixon, I’m from Chicago Illinois. living in Marietta Georgia for 17years has been a challenge being here with no family.. I do not have no children only a 13yr old dog who I’ve had 13years. We travel to Chicago 4 times a year to visit family. When I move to Georgia, I went to school to be a medical assistant. Graduating with high honors . I was also hired on my internship…after working for a few years for a family practice in Douglasville GA. I then start seeking a career as an Actress.. working on various projects. I also work part-time as an assistant manager at a boutique Until my career can take his next step. I’m currently at the boutique and working on production when I am booked.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I was in a car wreck several years ago. I was ejected from the car and ran over by three vehicles while lying in the road. I broke my second vertebrae and wore halo for three months. I didn’t have any surgery and I didn’t take any medication. I made it through strong, beautiful with strong faith..
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering can only teach you sadness, depression, anxiety, when success can bring you happiness and peace.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I must say I admire Beyonce. I love how talented she is. I admire how she is with her family. I admire how her mom and dad saw potential in her helping her become the woman she is today.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My heart!
