Carlos Fuentes of Atlanta on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Carlos Fuentes. Check out our conversation below.

Carlos, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Any creative project is the fastest way for me to lose track of time; focusing on the details and decisions of a creative endeavor mean that time is one of the last considerations until either completion or a breaking point.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Carlos Fuentes and I am a traditionally educated artist and tattooer. I specialize mostly in realism and outer space themes.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Learning from the mistakes of myself and others serves as an endless source of teaching.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering is a reminder of how good you have (or have had) things. It’s a reminder to be appreciative and grateful.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
Aliens.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If immortality were real, what would you build?
Everything I’m already doing now, I’ve been the dream I’ve wanted since day one.
