Today we’d like to introduce you to Alessia Cutting.
Hi Alessia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My path to photography wasn’t traditional. Before becoming a photographer, I spent years as a Senior Sales Manager in the corporate events industry, where I learned the importance of creating meaningful experiences and paying attention to every detail.
For the past ten years, I’ve called Atlanta, Georgia home, building both my business and my family there. But photography was shaped not only by my career—it was shaped by travel, motherhood, and a deep appreciation for the fleeting nature of life’s most meaningful moments.
When I became a mother, I began to see time differently. I realized how quickly seasons change and how valuable photographs become as the years pass. That realization inspired me to create images that preserve not just memories, but the emotions and connections behind them.
Now, as my family prepares to relocate from the United States to Rome, Italy, I’m entering an exciting new chapter both personally and professionally. Today, I specialize in destination weddings and lifestyle photography, bringing together an editorial eye and a documentary approach to tell stories throughout Italy, Europe, and beyond. My goal is always the same: to create photographs that help people remember not just how a moment looked, but how it felt.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Building a business while raising a family has come with plenty of challenges. There have been seasons where I was learning how to be a mother, run a business, and navigate personal growth all at the same time.
More recently, one of the biggest challenges has been preparing to leave Atlanta after ten years and relocate my family to Rome. Starting over in a new country is exciting, but it’s also humbling. It requires faith, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace the unknown.
That said, I think the challenges have become some of my greatest strengths. They’ve taught me resilience and given me a deeper appreciation for the moments I photograph, because I understand firsthand how quickly life can change and how important it is to preserve what matters most.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a destination wedding and lifestyle photographer who specializes in capturing authentic, emotionally driven imagery for couples and families. My style blends an editorial eye with a documentary approach, creating photographs that feel both timeless and genuine.
I’m known for documenting the in-between moments—the quiet glances, subtle gestures, and real connections that often tell the most meaningful stories. My goal is always to preserve not just how a moment looked, but how it felt.
What I’m most proud of is building a business centered on connection and trust. I love creating an experience where clients feel comfortable, present, and truly themselves in front of the camera.
What sets me apart is my unique perspective. My background in the events industry taught me how to anticipate moments and deliver an exceptional client experience, while motherhood deepened my appreciation for the fleeting moments that deserve to be remembered. Together, those experiences shape the way I tell stories through photography.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories isn’t a single moment, but the experiences I had traveling with my family. From a young age, I was fascinated by new places, different cultures, and the stories that existed within them. Long before photography became my career, it was already my favorite hobby.
Whenever I traveled, I was always the one taking photos—whether it was the architecture of a historic city, a colorful street market, or a beautiful landscape. I loved documenting the details that made each place unique. I would even create little travel blogs and photo journals to share my experiences, capturing everything from family trips to iconic destinations and hidden gems I discovered along the way.
Looking back, those experiences were the foundation of what I do today. They taught me to observe, appreciate beauty in everyday moments, and tell stories through images. What started as a childhood passion for documenting the world eventually evolved into a career dedicated to preserving meaningful memories for others.
