Check Out Allie Dervil’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Dervil.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I want to say around 7th grade is when I discovered my love for photography. At that point, I had been on Instagram for almost a year and I was so intrigued by the amazing content the girls were putting out. I loved the backgrounds, the outfits and the entire process sounded so exciting to me. I decided to try it out for myself and never looked back. I was taking pictures of myself, everything, with everyone and everywhere that I went. Fast forward to my freshman year of college where being an influencer became extremely popular. I found myself learning even more about gaining an engaging following, finding your niche, shooting content that works for you, etc. A hobby suddenly turned into an exciting journey that has already taught me so much and allowed me to connect with amazing people from all around the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road but it has not necessarily been a bumpy one either. It has simply been a learning experience; I imagine that it will be a life-long learning experience.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a micro-influencer who is known for being an inspiring black woman. While working on building my brand, I am also a student, an entrepreneur, and I hold a part-time job. I am most proud of the way that I have been able to balance my priorities and hobbies. While it has not been easy, I find a way to make it work for me. What sets me apart from others is my down-to-earth personality and my ability to get along well with others.

What’s next?
In the future, I plan to attend grad school while continuing to build my Instagram, expand my business, and work. I am really looking forward to graduating with my master’s and working at a great company that will help me build the necessary skills to further expand Derluxe. I am also excited to see where my Instagram is and how much progress I make.
