Check Out Angela Murray’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Murray.

Hi Angela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into beauty started long before I officially became a business owner. Creativity, beauty, and entrepreneurship were always around me especially growing up watching my mother run her own beauty salon, Glamorama, which planted the seed for what would later become my own path.

At 21, after coming off tour as a background dancer for Bow Wow, I stepped into the beauty industry working at a makeup counter called Colour U Cosmetics. But truthfully, my journey started even before that; while on tour, I was often the one glamming my fellow dancers before shows, unknowingly using those moments as my first real practice in makeup artistry. What started as passion and natural creativity quickly became purpose.

As I continued growing, I realized beauty was about so much more than makeup it was about confidence, transformation, and creating experiences that made women feel elevated, seen, and unforgettable during some of life’s most special moments. That passion led me to build my business specializing in luxury bridal beauty, where creating calm, high-end experiences became the heart of my brand.

Over time, my vision expanded beyond services alone. I saw how many talented beauty professionals had the skill, but lacked the strategy, systems, and guidance to build profitable, sustainable brands. That inspired a bigger mission not only to serve clients through luxury beauty experiences, but to eventually empower aspiring artists and entrepreneurs to build successful beauty brands of their own.

That evolution led to the creation of Thirty Three Glam, a brand born at age 33 that represents confidence, intentional beauty, legacy, and elevated self-expression. Inspired in part by my mother’s entrepreneurial legacy and the meaning behind the number 33, the brand reflects everything I’ve built and everything I hope to help other women become. Today, my mission is to create timeless luxury beauty experiences while empowering women to feel refined, confident, and fully aligned with the highest version of themselves.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has come with its share of pivots, uncertainty, and lessons that shaped who I am today. Transitioning from entertainment and dance into beauty meant starting over in many ways learning a completely new industry, building confidence in my artistry, and proving to myself that passion could become a real business.

One of the biggest challenges was building a brand from the ground up without a clear roadmap. As a creative, it’s easy to focus on the craft, but entrepreneurship requires so much more strategy, consistency, systems, marketing, and learning how to position yourself in a competitive industry. There were moments of self-doubt, slow seasons, financial uncertainty, and times when I had to figure things out through trial and error.

Breaking into the luxury bridal space also came with its own challenges, because serving a high-end clientele requires not only exceptional artistry, but an elevated client experience, strong branding, and the confidence to charge what your expertise is worth.

But every obstacle helped refine my vision. The struggles taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to build with intention. What once felt like setbacks became stepping stones toward creating something bigger not just a beauty business, but a brand rooted in confidence, luxury, legacy, and ultimately empowering other women to do the same.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a luxury beauty entrepreneur, professional makeup artist, and founder of both Tinkherbeauty and Thirty Three Glam. My work centers around creating elevated beauty experiences that help women feel confident, refined, and unforgettable during some of life’s most meaningful moments. I specialize in luxury bridal makeup, soft glam artistry, and creating calm, high-touch client experiences that go far beyond simply applying makeup it’s about transformation, confidence, and intentional service.

I’m known for my signature soft glam bridal aesthetic, my ability to create timeless looks that enhance rather than overpower natural beauty, and for delivering a luxury experience that makes clients feel cared for from the moment they inquire to the final touch-up. My clients often describe my presence as calming, which is especially meaningful in the bridal space where emotions and energy matter just as much as the final look.

What I’m most proud of is turning my passion into a purpose-driven business that continues to evolve into something bigger than myself. What began as a makeup artistry career has grown into a broader vision of building brands that empower women through beauty, confidence, and elevated self-expression. I’m especially proud of creating opportunities to give back through community impact work and using my platform to inspire other aspiring beauty entrepreneurs to see what’s possible for themselves. What sets me apart is the combination of artistry, experience, emotional intelligence, and brand vision. I don’t just provide a beauty service I create an experience rooted in luxury, trust, and transformation. My background in entertainment gave me an eye for performance, detail, and presentation, while my entrepreneurial journey has given me the strategy to build something lasting. I believe beauty is not just about how you look it’s about how you feel when you leave my chair, and that philosophy is at the heart of everything I create.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe risk is a necessary part of growth, but I don’t see risk as recklessness I see it as making intentional decisions despite uncertainty because the vision on the other side is worth it.

One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was transitioning from entertainment into entrepreneurship and building a business in the beauty industry from the ground up. Coming from a background as a dancer and performer, beauty was something I was naturally passionate about, but choosing to pursue it professionally meant stepping into unfamiliar territory without guarantees, a blueprint, or certainty that it would succeed. That required a great deal of faith in myself and my ability to create opportunities.

Another major risk has been continuously investing in myself and my business whether through education, branding, mentorship, events, products, or expanding my vision beyond being just a service provider. Entrepreneurship often requires betting on yourself before the results are visible, and that can be uncomfortable, especially when financial resources, time, and energy are involved.

Launching Thirty Three Glam is another example of meaningful risk for me. Creating a brand that represents a bigger legacy not just services, but products, empowerment, and future opportunities for other women requires stepping beyond what feels safe and into long-term vision building.
