Check Out Charity Marshall’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charity Marshall.

Hi Charity , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Photography has always been a passion of mine, even before I had the proper equipment. Back home, I was known for taking everyone’s pictures on my cell phone. The images themselves weren’t perfect, but I quickly learned that creativity, perspective, and the right angles could make all the difference.

After relocating to Miami, Florida, the pandemic brought unexpected challenges. With businesses closed and limited job opportunities, I knew I had to find a new way to provide for my family. With encouragement from my wife, I decided to invest in my first professional camera. Shortly after, I booked my very first photoshoot for just $50 and from that moment, my journey as a photographer truly began. What started as a necessity has grown into a passion-driven career capturing moments, emotions, and stories through my lens.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any craft, photography comes with its ups and downs. Each season brings new lessons and challenges that naturally come with the territory whether it’s mastering lighting, understanding metadata, or perfecting the details that bring a client’s vision to life.

Atlanta’s photography scene is filled with incredible talent and strong competition, but I’ve learned that staying consistent, running your own race, and remaining open to learning will always keep you moving forward. When you focus on growth and passion, everything else begins to flow.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently serve as the Media Director at Saint Philip AME Church in Decatur, Georgia, where I have the privilege of sharing the story of Christ through media. I truly enjoy using visual storytelling to capture moments of faith, inspiration, and community in real time.

I’m known for my sharp, captivating eye and my willingness to do whatever it takes to get the perfect shot whether that means adjusting angles, chasing light, or waiting patiently for that one authentic moment that tells the story best.

What truly sets me apart is my commitment to excellence and client satisfaction. I don’t just focus on completing a project I focus on creating an experience. My goal is for every client to walk away not only pleased with the results, but already excited to collaborate again in the future.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success, to me, isn’t just about recognition or financial gain. It’s about growth, consistency, and impact. It’s being able to look back and see progress in your craft, your mindset, and the lives you’ve touched along the way.

Success is when your passion becomes purpose, when your work inspires others, and when your clients feel seen, valued, and understood through your lens. It’s staying grounded in faith, pushing through challenges, and continuing to show up even when it’s not easy.

True success is finding fulfillment in the journey, not just the destination.
