Check Out China Smith’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to China Smith.

Hi China, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is China Smith, and I believe my journey is a testament to what can happen when faith, resilience, and purpose come together. Entrepreneurship wasn’t something that was handed to me, it was built through trial and error, long nights, sacrifices, and a refusal to give up.

Like many entrepreneurs, I started with a dream and very little direction. I made mistakes, invested money into things that didn’t work, and often had to teach myself through research because I didn’t always have someone willing to guide me. Instead of allowing those setbacks to stop me, I used them as lessons that helped shape the entrepreneur I am today.

Today, I’m the owner of Unique Meals & More LLC, where we provide catering, meal prep, mobile food experiences, and community outreach. What makes our business unique isn’t just the food, it’s the experience. Every meal is prepared with intention because we truly believe in our slogan: “We Sprinkle Love in Every Bite.”

Beyond food, I’m passionate about helping people discover their purpose. I’m also an author, motivational speaker, and business coach because I know what it feels like to need guidance. That’s why I wrote my book, The Blueprint: Passion to Purpose, to help others avoid many of the mistakes I made and give them a roadmap toward building their own dreams.

One of the things I’m most proud of is giving back to my community through initiatives like Taking It Back to the Streets, where we provide meals, resources, and encouragement to those in need. Success, to me, isn’t measured only by revenue but by the number of lives you’re able to impact along the way.

I’m still growing, still learning, and still dreaming bigger every day. My goal has never been simply to build businesses, it’s to build hope, inspire others to keep going, and show people that your past doesn’t determine your future. If you’re willing to stay consistent, trust God, and keep moving forward, amazing things can happen.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most entrepreneurs, my journey has been filled with obstacles. Building a business while working a full-time job has required countless sacrifices, long hours, and unwavering faith. There were many days when I questioned whether I was making the right decisions. I’ve invested money into ideas that didn’t work, experienced setbacks that forced me to pivot, and often had to figure things out on my own because I didn’t have a mentor showing me the way.

One of my biggest challenges was learning that passion alone isn’t enough, you also need systems, strategy, patience, and resilience. Every setback taught me something valuable, and each lesson made my business stronger.

One of the most eye-opening moments came recently when I experienced a health scare brought on by constantly pouring into everyone else while neglecting myself. My body forced me to slow down and rest. That experience reminded me that success means very little if you aren’t healthy enough to enjoy it. Since then, I’ve become intentional about creating balance, prioritizing my health, and building my business in a way that’s sustainable.

I’ve also learned that rejection isn’t always a loss. Some opportunities weren’t meant for me because they were preparing me for something greater. Today, I don’t see obstacles as roadblocks, I see them as building blocks. Every challenge has strengthened my faith, refined my vision, and prepared me to serve others at a higher level.

If there’s one lesson my journey has taught me, it’s this: don’t give up because the road gets hard. Sometimes the greatest growth happens during the moments when you feel like quitting. Keep going, keep learning, and trust the process.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I wear several hats as an entrepreneur, but they all share one common purpose: serving people. I’m the owner of Unique Meals & More LLC, where we specialize in catering, meal prep, mobile food experiences, and community-focused events. I’m also an author, motivational speaker, business coach, and community advocate. Whether I’m preparing a meal, speaking to a room full of entrepreneurs, or mentoring someone who wants to start a business, my goal is always the same, to leave people better than I found them.

What I’m most known for is creating experiences rather than simply providing a service. At Unique Meals & More, we don’t just serve food, we create memorable moments. From customized meal prep and catering to our interactive mobile food cart, everything we do is centered around quality, creativity, and genuine care. Our slogan, “We Sprinkle Love in Every Bite,” isn’t just a tagline……it’s how we operate every day.

One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is using my business to give back to the community. Through initiatives like Taking It Back to the Streets, we’ve been able to provide meals, encouragement, and resources to individuals experiencing hardship. I believe every business has a responsibility to make a positive impact beyond generating revenue.

What truly sets me apart is authenticity. I don’t believe in pretending to have all the answers. I openly share my successes, failures, and lessons because I know someone else’s breakthrough may come from hearing my story. Whether someone hires me for catering, books me to speak, or reads my book, I want them to walk away feeling inspired, valued, and encouraged to pursue their own purpose.

At the end of the day, I don’t want to be remembered simply as someone who owned successful businesses. I want to be remembered as someone who used her gifts to serve others, uplift her community, and remind people that with faith, consistency, and perseverance, anything is possible.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
As an entrepreneur, I’m always learning. I enjoy reading books and listening to content that helps me grow spiritually, personally, and professionally. Faith is the foundation of everything I do, so I spend time reading the Bible and listening to inspirational messages that keep me grounded and remind me to trust God’s timing.

I also enjoy books and podcasts centered around entrepreneurship, leadership, financial literacy, and personal development because I believe growth never stops. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn something new, and I try to stay open to new ideas that can help me better serve my clients and community.

When it comes to technology, I rely on apps like ChatGPT to help me brainstorm ideas, organize projects, improve my writing, and think through business strategies. As someone who wears many hats, having tools that increase my productivity allows me to spend more time focusing on what matters most, creating meaningful experiences for others.

One resource that’s especially close to my heart is my own book, The Blueprint: Passion to Purpose. Writing it reminded me just how much I’ve learned throughout my entrepreneurial journey and reinforced my passion for helping others avoid the mistakes I made. My goal is to never stop learning because every new lesson makes me a better entrepreneur, leader, and servant to my community.
