Check Out Cordarius Henley’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cordarius Henley.

Hi Cordarius, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up as a kid, I used to love looking at my older cousin’s sneakers and thinking one day I would have those sneakers or better-looking sneakers. I thought because someone had nice sneakers, it made their outfit look cool and they were fresh, so of course, I wanted to be fresh too. I started collecting sneakers in middle school and from that day forward, I allowed my sneaker collection to grow. Which came the name ReddGotKicks2 because I wanted everyone to know I have cooler and more sneakers than my cousins LOL.

In my spare time, I would research sneakers and watch sneaker blogs to keep me updated on the different types of sneakers and basic information on the different sneaker brands. As time went by and I realize I have a lot of sneakers, sneakers that is even over a decade old, but you would not be able to tell unless you read the box, I decided I wanted to take this sneaker thing to a new level, which is when I decided to attend sneaker events across the country and have an Instagram sneaker account. Then, I decided, hey I should make Youtube videos so I can review different sneakers in hopes of owning my own sneaker store one day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. I have missed plenty of shoes that I wanted for many reasons, like not having the money on a day the shoes were released, to shoes being sold out in stores and the worse of them all is oversleeping on a release day and waking up to them being sold out In some cases I see the shoes online and think they are ugly, but once I see them in person, they look better but sold out. Another struggle is not having the support and feel like giving up. On some days, my Instagram and Youtube account is doing great, but a lot of times it is not doing so well, so I feel like giving up.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work at Napa Distribution center loading and unloading auto parts. I am known for working hard and having the cleanest sneakers. I am most proud of always getting my job done in a timely manner. My work ethic sets me apart from others.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I have not learned anything due to covid-19 because, thankfully my life was not affected; therefore I was somewhat living a normal life besides not being able to travel.
