Check Out Cynthia Whittle’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Whittle.

Hi Cynthia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Our daughter got a miniature horse. His name is Sparky. I completely fell in love with this rollypolly little horse. After a short time our daughter saw what a change this little horse had in my life. You see over the past few years I tragically lost my mother in a car crash. Few years later our first son passed away in his sleep. Almost four years later our youngest son lost his life while on the job. Needless to say I just never wanted to be around people or go anywhere. I didn’t want to hear them talk, complain about their parents or children. I was just ANGRY, VERY ANGRY!
BUT GOD heard my cries and along came Sparky. This little fat little guy changed my world. He allowed peace back into my life. I still grieve the loss of our son’s, that will never change. They are gone nothing I can do about that. Sparky let’s happyness back into my soul.
Knowing what this little horse did for me, there was just no way I could keep him to myself.
Oh the joy that he shares with assisted living centers and or memory care facilities. Some folks will actually cry when he stands with them and lets them pet him or when he nuzzles them.
This inspired us to purchase another miniature horse. His name is Sonny. He is one year old will be two April 28.
Because Sonny is a yearling sometimes it feels like I have a toddler with 100 dollars at the dollar store. Even though Sonny is a handful at times . He is also an exceptional horse, that is learning daily how to communicate and toe read people’s emotions.
We have recently gotten a little white puppy the residents can have in their laps and cuddle. His name is Sy and the residents love him.
Nothing can ever replace our son’s
But God has made it a bit easier to deal with and has allowed the Sonshine back into my life..

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been somewhat of a smooth ride. Our biggest struggle is my terrible time management, and animals can be unpredictable. Of course money. I’m retired on fixed income. But God always seems to get us through with the horses needs always being met.
It is not hard to make any kind of an impact when two little 200lb horse steps out of their van. People have stopped their cars just to see them.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I was a Gwinnett public school employee for over 20 yrs. I retired to take care of my father after my mom passed away. So now I’m just an old lady with 2 awesome fun size horses.
I am known for being completely spontaneous randomly showing up with a horse to visit someone in the hospital or rehabilitation center, taking the horse with us out for dinner, (Outside dining only) or taking the horses to a mall or local home improvement centers.
I’m the most proud of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. I’m also very proud of my faith. Knowing what ever happens I am not alone, God will send what I need when I need it on His time not mine

How do you think about luck?
I can say I don’t believe in luck, I believe in Jesus. He is all the luck I need.
