Today we’d like to introduce you to Daisy Helm.
Hi Daisy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Daisy and I am a self-taught photographer/videographer & event designer. Photography has always been a passion for me. Ever since I could remember, I would always be the girl snapping photos everywhere I went. Whether it was selfies, landscape photos, flowers/plants or even photos of random people. It wasn’t until 2015 when I purchased my first DSLR camera that I took photography more serious.
I’ve been a photographer for 6 years and I can’t imagine doing anything else. My photography style is natural and relaxed. I love capturing all the fleeting and wonderful moments of beautiful families & people. In 2014, I started working for a chef that did events for families & organizations. My duty was to set up for the events, soon after I realized I had a passion for event decor. In 2017, my passion for decorating started to grow. I decided to start throwing events such as game nights & birthday parties just to decorate. 2018 I planned my whole wedding & designed it. Shortly after, I also planned & designed my baby shower. That’s when I realized that I wanted to incorporate event designing into my business.
2020 was the year I put my business plan together and combined my photography with my events. I am now DH portraits & Designs LLC.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I would say yes when it comes to the photography part of things.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Photographer/Videographer & Event Designer. I am mainly known for photography, considering the length of time I have been photographing. Designing events is more recent but I am highly passionate in event decor. I am mostly proud of my ambition in everything that I do. I care a lot about people and their needs, so anything I can do to help others or their families makes me enjoy what I do even more. What sets me apart is my creativity and how fast I can come up with new ideas.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I would say do what you’re extremely passionate about. You should wake up every morning loving what you do. If you have a talent or a dream for something, most definitely follow it.
