Today we’d like to introduce you to DaQuan Huff.
Hi DaQuan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always loved customizing photos and editing websites since MySpace. I used to get asked to design other people’s profiles after they saw mine because I always kept my profile updated and looking amazing! I also used to get asked to edit people’s photos as well and I became pretty popular doing this so I decided to turn it into a business. In high school I signed up for a program that taught me graphic design and also gave me college credit and this is where I learned the bulk of what I know about Adobe photoshop and illustrator. Years later I ended up moving from Saginaw, Michigan to Atlanta, Georgia for an opportunity to expand my business and that was one of the best decisions I could have made and I do not regret it.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Everything was not smooth because this move from my hometown to Atlanta required me to put myself out there and network so that I can gain more clients. It has gotten easier since I first arrived but I must say it was super hard engaging with people and introducing myself and my business. After the first few times it became easier to do this and I have become a much stronger person with stronger communication skills.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a graphic designer and I currently specialize in customizing Acuity scheduling sites. I am super proud of the fact that whenever someone either tells me their vision or simply tells me to freestyle I always get approval on the first attempt. This lets me know that I am executing these designs correctly and I love that for me.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was always curious and always excited to learn new things and create new things. I also loved to play outside with my friends having fun and finding new creative ways to have fun.
