Hi Donnell, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Haze a recording, mixing engineer, artist, producer, and songwriter, born in Cleveland, Ohio raised in Decatur Georgia. I come from a sports background as athletic kid and switch and started engineering in high school, graduated went to a trade school and interned with Generation Now so now I’m one of the in house recording engineers. I’m in my 10th year of professional recording. I’ve worked with many names from upcoming to major. I’ve started a beginner engineering social media page. I also started a sports media company that stemmed from working with Elite Talent Football Academy. I’m working on projects with some up coming artist in Atlanta. I’m working on my self produced project….etc

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, the industry is a different place and very fast paced. I’ve been up and down with it. I moved back to Ohio after covid, music got slow. So I quit my post office job with no 2 week notice. got in a car accident while i was parked. I got money from insurance and returned to atlanta end of 2022. I slept in my car for some time while i was trying to dj and valet. I was making music in my car or local libraries. stayed with friends here and there. kept a few gig and part time jobs. i even struggled when i started my internship. finally moved with some family and kept progressing from there. I’ve had sessions with artist that could have black balled me lol. Burned some bridges non intentionally because of mutual friends and conflict of interest that steered my career in ways. Dealing with death has been the biggest challenge. I’ve lost 5-6 people since covid and I’m talking friends and my family.
