Today we’d like to introduce you to Huey King.
Hi Huey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Atlanta, starting off my acting career under Joy Pervis, one of the top Talent Agencies in the South. Once my parents divorced, I moved to Toledo, OH at the age of seven, where I flourished into a Division 1 collegiate basketball recruit. Meanwhile, as I was making a name on the court, I had made my first song and it went viral with 130k views within two weeks of being released. As I started to become more known for my musical talents, people began to encourage me to take the music thing more seriously. Most people can’t imagine how hard it is to do this while also being a Division 1 recruit. While dreaming of a life as an NBA star, the unimaginable happened. My Injury. Breaking my lower back during my senior season of high school was most definitely not in my plans and thoughts of life without basketball became more prominent. I had to sit out for eight months which forced me to think in ways I never imagined. This was a huge growing point for me, mentally.
I committed to Eastern Kentucky University, where I went on to lead the Ohio Valley Conference in 3 point percentage as a freshman and became one of the best shooters in the NCAA. Mind you, I was performing music around Kentucky at the same time, which is very unheard of. At the start of my Sophomore season, I re-injured my lower back, lessening my chances of continuing my basketball career. This was a bitter-sweet moment. Bitter, because I was done with something I had given so many years of my life to. Sweet, because I felt as if it were God, leaving me no choice but to truly explore the other natural talents given to me to the best of my ability. I moved back to Atlanta this past summer.

Since I’ve been back in Atlanta, I have dropped two music projects that have been making noise around the country and other parts of the World. It’s nice to see that a lot of the top artists/influencers are reaching out to acknowledge my skills and encouraging me to keep going.
