Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Mcdowell.
Jada, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was raised in a Pentecostal apostolic church my entire life. I started modeling when I was in elementary school. I was discovered at a former local store in Baltimore MD called fashion bug, I walked in my first fashion show at eight years old… Fast forward, modeling & fashion has been my passion since. I became the youth leader at my church a young age. My dad always spoke leadership over me and my sibling’s lives. At the age of 20 I became a hotel manager for different Marriott properties. I am now currently an entrepreneur, I have my own brand called ElevenSeventeen, which represents my birthday.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been an easy journey juggling my full-time job and following my passion at the same time. It took hard work and dedication.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for modeling and styling for different artists. I started off doing print work, then I featured in a few music videos such as FYB by EZ Stevie, Tory lanzez and Daviido. I am most proud of my new brand ElevenSeventeen which launched on November 17th, 2020.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Do not take life for granted.
