Check Out Jayla Brewster’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayla Brewster.

Hi Jayla, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started creating content simply because I wanted to document my life. At the time, I was a full-time college student, and I enjoyed sharing my day-in-the-life vlogs, study routines, and what it looked like to balance school while also figuring out adulthood. I never expected anyone beyond my friends and family to watch, as it was just something I genuinely enjoyed.

As I continued posting, I realized people connected with the authenticity of my content. They weren’t just interested in the highlights, they appreciated seeing the real balance of pursuing an education while building a life for myself. That encouraged me to keep creating and explore different types of content.

Over time, my content naturally evolved into lifestyle content. While I still love documenting my everyday life, I now share more around wellness, fitness, beauty, fashion, travel, and the products and experiences I genuinely enjoy.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many creators, I started with very few views and had to learn not to let numbers determine whether I kept posting. There were moments where I’d spend hours filming and editing a video that didn’t perform the way I hoped, but I learned that consistency matters more than going viral.

As I’ve grown, I’ve realized that every challenge has helped me become a better creator. It’s taught me patience, consistency, and the importance of staying authentic instead of chasing trends. Looking back, those experiences have made reaching each milestone even more rewarding because I know how much work went into getting here.

It’s been rewarding to see something that started as a fun way to capture memories grow into a career I’m truly passionate about.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I recently graduated with both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work Troy University. I’m now pursuing my dream career of advocating for vulnerable populations, with a special passion for supporting children and their families. My goal is to help create environments where children are safe, families feel supported, and communities have access to the resources they need to thrive.

My background has given me experience in child welfare, policy, and community advocacy. I’m passionate about approaching every individual and family with empathy, cultural humility, and a strengths-based perspective. I believe that meaningful change happens when we not only support people on an individual level but also work to improve the systems that impact their lives.

What I’m most proud of is staying committed to this path, even when it required years of hard work and sacrifice. I also love showing that you can pursue a purpose-driven career while embracing your other interests, for me that is content creation.

I think what sets me apart is my ability to connect with people authentically. I strive to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and encouraged. I’m passionate about using both my professional knowledge and my platform to educate, inspire, and advocate for positive change.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see social work becoming more integrated with technology, prevention, and policy advocacy. There will be a greater focus on mental health access, trauma-informed care, and addressing systemic inequities. I also believe social workers will play an even larger role in shaping policies that strengthen children, families, and communities.
