Check Out LaDonna Jackson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaDonna Jackson.

LaDonna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my career in the entertainment industry modeling for Bronner Brothers, boutiques, showrooms in the Apparel Mart and local fashion designers such as the Wilbourn Sisters. During this time I was approached by a tv producer at People TV public access cable station in Atlanta to host his talk show, Focus on You. My love for being a talk show host was born. Also during this time it was recommended to me to try acting. So I called the 1-800 number that had a recording of open acting jobs to see what tv or film projects were available. I mailed in my picture to be considered for a role of an extra on the tv show In The Heat of The Night. The first time I was on set felt like home and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in acting. I continue to pursue my acting career along with building my media career.

I love expressing myself creatively. Acting provides a space for me to do just that. And my hosting opportunities provides a space for me to meet some amazing talented individuals

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Over the years the challenge has been balancing being a caregiver, working in demanding roles in corporate America all while pursuing my dreams of being an actress.

Currently the landscape of the acting industry is changing so the opportunities are not as plentiful as they have been in the past. But I’m hopeful things will turn around soon.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m mostly known for my media platform Conversations with LaDonna which I created during Covid in 2020. It started on Instagram as a virtual place to put a spotlight on my friend’s work in the acting industry. Because I’m a sickle cell advocate, I also used my platform to interview sickle cell warriors and caregivers from different countries to tell their stories and their journey. From there I expanded to red carpet interviews, emceeing and speaking engagements. When I started Conversations with LaDonna, I had no idea that it would grow into what it is today. I am grateful for the growth and the journey.

As mentioned previously, I’m an actress as well. I work in tv, film and new media . You can find my projects on the TV One network, Amazon Prime, Tubi and other streaming platforms. I have been blessed to work in both comedic and dramatic projects. I intentionally try to go for roles that different than what I’ve already done to challenge me and show my range as an actress.

I am most proud of pushing myself to go for my dreams while being a caregiver of my son who has sickle cell beta thalassemia. God’s grace, the love of my family and friends has carried me through and I’m much appreciative.

I believe there’s room for everyone to be successful. I’m rooting for all of us to be able to use the gifts God gave us.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
