Check Out Sayquon Keys’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sayquon Keys.

Hi Sayquon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Nigerian descent but I grew up in Baltimore City, left for LA when I was 21 years old to pursue my dream to become a dancer. Spent 15 years in LA perfecting my craft and accomplishing my goals. Since then I’ve choreographed for Mariah Carey, Fergie, Jessie J, So you think you can Dance, Chippendales, Chocolate City and much much more!!!! I recently booked my dream job and first feature film COMING2AMERICA, where I then decided to move to Atlanta to continue pursuing my dreams. Since arriving in Atlanta I’ve taught dance classes at all the studios and also helped open a New studio myself called inspire Studios!!!! My latest project DREAMWORLD will be coming to a stage near you this summer!!!!!! Being in Atlanta has been nothing but a blessing and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store!!!!!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While I was on a World Tour with Fergie and the Black eyes Peas, I tore my Acl and meniscus while on stage in Brazil!!!!!! This incident took me out the game for a whole year and it seemed that I wouldn’t dance the same every again. Besides taking me away from my dream job, I thought my career was over, but God had other plans for me…. ten years later and I’m now an International choreographer, Influencer, Content Creator, and Creative Director!!!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an international choreographer that travels the world teaching dance classes to the masses…. I specialize in Baltimore style, Afro Style, and Sexy style Dance!!!! I’m most known for mixing the Bmore and Afro style together to make magic!!!! I’m mostly proud that I stayed in my lane and true to myself, and that I’ve shared my gift with people all across the globe. I think my ability to take risks and step out into the unknown is what separates me from others. I’ve never been afraid to step out on faith even when all the odds are against me!!!!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My MOM – Sabrine Mason, she was the one I watched growing up and also learned from at the tender age of 5!!!! Fatima Robinson changed my life forever, she booked me on my first major world Tour and also my first feature film COMING2AMERICA!!!!!! Teachers such as Kennis Marquis, Tony Czar, Tricia Miranda, PHLEX, Jayson Wright, And so many others help groom me into the choreographer I am today!!!! And lastly, this awesome artists I collaborated with to make great content that always went VIRAL, working with stars over the years really changed my life… Aliya Janell, Phil Wright, Amari Marshall, Mizz.KO, BlameitonKway, just to name a few
