Hi Tavarus, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into entrepreneurship started with a simple desire to build something of my own. For years, I’ve worked as an EMT, where I developed a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for serving others. While I enjoyed helping people in healthcare, I knew I wanted to create a business that would give me more freedom and allow me to make an impact in a different way.

I officially launched 6’8 Cleaning Service with the goal of providing reliable, high-quality cleaning services throughout the Metro Atlanta area. Like many small business owners, I started with very few clients and had to earn every opportunity. I spent countless hours networking, reaching out to property managers, Airbnb hosts, real estate professionals, and homeowners while consistently posting my work on social media.

One of the biggest turning points for my business was landing my first Airbnb cleaning. That single opportunity opened the door to ongoing relationships with property managers and hosts, and today we’ve completed numerous Airbnb turnovers, residential cleanings, commercial cleanings, and move-in/move-out projects. Seeing the business grow from one opportunity into recurring clients has been incredibly rewarding.

The journey hasn’t always been easy. Balancing my EMT career, running a business, and continuing my education has required a lot of sacrifice, discipline, and faith. There have been challenges and moments of uncertainty, but I’ve learned that consistency, integrity, and showing up every day make all the difference.

Today, my focus is on continuing to grow 6’8 Cleaning Service by building lasting relationships with clients, expanding our residential, commercial, Airbnb, and post-construction cleaning services, and becoming one of the most trusted cleaning companies in Metro Atlanta. This is only the beginning, and I’m excited about what the future holds.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped me grow as both a business owner and a person.

When I first started 6’8 Cleaning Service, I didn’t have a portfolio or many reviews. Instead of waiting for opportunities to come to me, I offered several of my first cleanings completely free of charge. My goal wasn’t to make money at that point—it was to build credibility. I needed before-and-after photos, videos, and client testimonials so I could market my business and show potential customers the quality of my work. Looking back, those free cleanings were one of the best investments I made because they helped me build the foundation of my brand.

Another challenge has been balancing multiple responsibilities. I’ve continued working as an EMT while growing my cleaning business and pursuing my bachelor’s degree. There have been long days, early mornings, and late nights, but I’ve stayed committed because I believe in what I’m building.

Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve also faced the uncertainty of finding consistent clients. There were times when I had to step outside of my comfort zone by reaching out to property managers, Airbnb hosts, real estate professionals, and general contractors. Not every conversation led to a client, but I learned that consistency and persistence pay off.

Today, I’m proud to say those efforts have led to recurring clients and opportunities that I once prayed for. The journey has taught me that success doesn’t happen overnight—it comes from showing up, staying consistent, and trusting the process, even when the results aren’t immediate.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the growth of the business—it’s the trust we’ve been able to build with our clients. Many of them continue to call us because they know we’ll show up, communicate well, and treat their homes and businesses with care and respect.

One thing that sets us apart is that we’re not just cleaning to make a dollar. I truly understand that every client is spending their hard-earned money, and I never take that for granted. Attention to detail is something I take seriously. I don’t like cutting corners, and I believe in leaving every property better than I found it. Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising that most people who know me or my work might not know is that I absolutely love music and singing. Outside of running my business, serving my clients, and building my brand, music has always been a big part of who I am. It’s one of the ways I express myself, stay creative, and connect with people.
