Today we’d like to introduce you to Cornelia DeSouza.
Hi Cornelia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m the founder of C & Brie Charcuterie Co. located in Long Island NY. C & Brie Charcuterie Co est 2021 My first charcuterie box was for my close friends on Mothers’ Day 2021. I started this business in my head months before, focused on logistics and planning, but this was the day I decided to actually start the process. Creating my first boxes for my friends on Mothers’ Day was truly special and provided me with loving feedback, support, and the courage I needed to continue with my launch. Not to mention, this also gave me the boost of confidence to start creating content for Instagram and for my website. As of today, I have gained such great support from all of my customers which I’m truly grateful and so appreciative of them all.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about C & Brie Charcuterie Co.?
We specialize in charcuterie boards, boxes and grazing tables for any and all occasions. My company provides customizable boards and boxes for picnics, birthdays, and anniversaries just to name a few. C & Brie Charcuterie started as a personal hobby that blossomed into a side hustle business to complement my 9-5 gig as an Account Executive at an insurance brokerage firm. My goal is to continue to work on my craft, gain even greater knowledge of the Charcuterie/Gazing industry, and eventually move into a brick and mortar space where I can expand my offerings to include experiences like charcuterie board making sessions and wine pairing workshops.
It was always natural for me to be in the kitchen – from a young age, my mother had us in the kitchen, whether it was to help her prep or just learning the basics, the art of cooking with love. I also enjoyed watching the Food Network and I love trying new recipes. Most of my family and friends know that I enjoy cooking, but food styling is the best part for me.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
When it comes to risk taking I say, “hey why not” – take the risk – do your best because if you don’t at least try then I feel like you will never know how things will turn out. So like any new endeavor, there’s an associated risk, but I knew starting my very own Charcuterie business would be worth it, to fulfill my dream of being my own boss, an entrepreneur like my mother who is still enjoying her journey of success. It’s so refreshing to be a part of an entrepreneurial family filled with supportive loved ones who always test out new ideas I explore with C & Brie Charcuterie. I look forward to continuing to grow my business, collaborating with other local businesses to succeed together.
