Community Highlights: Meet Da-Viii Productions of Da-Viii Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Da-Viii Productions.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I fell in love with music at an early age. I picked up my first drum at seven years old and started marching in a drill team drumline in Dayton, Ohio. From there, my passion grew into dance—I remember being young, dancing in my room, imagining myself performing in front of millions.By the time I was 14, I had become a dance choreographer for local artists, and I also started my own rap group where I produced and wrote most of our music. Throughout all of this, I stayed deeply involved in marching band. That love for drums ultimately inspired me to pursue college. .

After high school, I attended Bethune-Cookman University, where I majored in Music Technology and studied piano. I spent countless hours in the recording studio—so much so that I’d sometimes have to be kicked out because I didn’t want to stop creating. There were even nights I slept in the studio, just fully immersed in the process.
After graduating,

I briefly moved back to Dayton, then relocated to Atlanta for an internship. When that didn’t go as planned, I returned to Ohio, earned my master’s degree, built up my finances, and created my own studio. After six years, I felt ready to take another leap, so I moved back to Atlanta to fully pursue my passion and be closer to my network.

I’ve now been in Atlanta for four years, and through my music production company Da-Viii Productions, I’ve been fortunate to work with talented artists like J. Harvard, SHVN, Airy, and Kayla. Through it all, God my family, and my support system have been my foundation, they keep me grounded and motivated, even when the path gets challenging.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles has been continuing to believe in myself during seasons when opportunities just weren’t there. All my life, people have told me how talented I am, but there’s a difference between hearing that and actually seeing things line up the way you expect.

There were times I was putting in the work every day, but still waking up feeling like I wasn’t where I wanted to be. That led to moments where I questioned myself—especially as a music producer. And in a creative field, your mindset is everything. When your mind starts filling with doubt or negative thoughts, it can affect your motivation and your ability to create at your highest level. I’ve had to really learn how to push through that and stay grounded.

On top of that, there have been real-life challenges too—financial pressure, setbacks, and just navigating adulthood while chasing something that isn’t guaranteed.

But through all of it, my faith has been a huge anchor for me. I trust that God didn’t bring me this far just to stop here. That belief, along with my support system, has helped me stay consistent, keep growing, and keep going even when things don’t look how I expected.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Da-Viii Productions?
I’m a music producer, songwriter, engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and overall creative visionary. My production company works across multiple spaces—from developing independent artists to collaborating with companies and creating music for sync opportunities and beyond.

I operate my own studio, which allows me to be a true one-stop shop for any musical need. Whether it’s production, recording, songwriting, or full creative direction, I’m able to take a project from an idea all the way to a finished product.

At the core of my sound is a deep love for R&B—it’s the foundation of how I approach music. You can hear that influence in the emotion, the textures, and the musicality I bring into every record. At the same time, I’m very versatile and can create across multiple genres, which allows me to adapt to different artists and creative visions.

What really sets me apart is my ability to combine technical skill with creativity and feel. I don’t just focus on making something sound good, I focus on making it feel right and connect with people. Being a multi-instrumentalist and having a background in performance also helps me bring a unique perspective to every project.

More than anything, I want people to know that my brand is built on quality, authenticity, and intention. I take pride in helping artists and clients create music that not only sounds great, but lasts and makes an impact.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as being able to take care of my family so they don’t have to worry about anything, and being in a position where I can wake up every day and do what I love.

For me, success is also about freedom—being my own boss, living in my purpose, and operating in my divine rhythm. It’s not just about financial achievement, but about alignment: doing work that feels meaningful, fulfilling, and true to who I am.

Ultimately, success is having peace, stability, and the ability to create a life where my passion and purpose are my everyday reality.
