Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeromy Brand Jr.
Hi Jeromy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Jeromy Dewayne Brand Jr. I am 21 years of age and a junior in college. I am currently enrolled in Troy University. I am proud to say that i’m from Tuscaloosa, AL. I played football in Highschool. I have 2 younger brothers. Both of my parents are deaf. A lot of people didn’t know that about me so that’s an interesting fact about me. I am pretty fluent in American Sign Language because of this. I first started taking steps towards my business in my dad’s apartment in the summer of 2019. We were both working at an automotive plant building car seats for Mercedez Benz in Vance, AL. I had just completed my freshman year of college and was taking up online summer classes at Troy University while working. I used to work from 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., then i would go home, repeat this everyday for the entire summer. I remember saving all of my checks to invest into my future business. The first thing I purchased with my pay checks was for my brand to be trademarked. This was expensive but very necessary; a lot of smaller brands tend to skip this part. I wanted to make sure i was legit and official before I did anything. I had the worst fear of someone stealing my brand identity. After that, I taught myself how to create a website & created my very own website. That took a lot of patience. I would then purchase my LLC. I took the harder route with things but it all worked out perfectly fine.
A month later, I returned back to college for my sophomore year. I ended up dropping my first design on about 50-100 hoodies around thanksgiving. I was selling hoodies right out of my college apartment for around $25 dollars and “Boy, did I have the trap jumping”. I invested somewhere around the lines of $2,000 and profited an good amount of money. So, instantly I knew I could make some real cash. I ended up dropping shirts, phone cases, and much more later that year. Being an Entrepreneur was an dream I had in the back of head since my senior year of High School. I knew I wanted to be a self made boss. The question popped up in my head “what’s next?” after about a week after graduation. I knew i had to get something going for myself. I had a Division 3 scholarship offer out of greensboro, North Carolina to play football at the next level. However, I declined. It wasn’t the fit for me. I told myself ”imma go to school and try and pop off my business on the side”. I wouldn’t say I was a fashion guru like some upcoming clothing owners are. However, I had a passion for designing luxury streetwear and putting my twist on it! I’ve pretty much been popular since I could remember so I knew I had a fan base who could support me.
Today, I am currently still in business. I have been working on new projects and getting some big names in my brand. I’ve already gotten a few big names in my clothes already such as rappers ‘Boosie BadAzz and TLE Cinco’. Last but not least, the YouTube sensation and my bestfriend “Nicole TV”. She has been by far my biggest supporter for my business. So grateful to have someone like her in my corner. One day, my company will be a million-dollar company. I will work so hard and manifest it until it happens. Amen.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My only struggles starting out was financially. I strictly just designed them and sent the designs to the manufacturers. So, my pieces were being made for my customers in mass production. This cost a good amount of time and money. But, I wanted to do whatever it cost to get the best quality for my brand. I had to look at the bigger picture. I feel as if struggles or hardships create character & keeps you humble.
We’ve been impressed with Rich Vibes Apparel, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my clothing brand roughly 11 months ago. It is a unisex streetwear brand that I started out of my college apartment. You guys should know that my clothing is pure quality. I am trademarked in the U.S and certified in the state of AL to pursue my business. This alone sets me apart from your average joe. I’m really known from Instagram. I have over 50,000 followers on my personal account. I am more proud that I started my brand than anything. The hardest part was just starting it honestly. It’s step by step after you start. I would love readers to know my brand is and will be versatile, different and a dope look! I have gained so much love and support from people all over the country. I’m truly blessed.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The reputation and quality of my brand. I would rather have a ”good face card” than anything. I want that 5 star review rather than just a sale. Customers have to trust you and have a good experience shopping with you. This is how you create repeat customers and more customers due to great reviews and hearing good things about your brand. I’m very business minded and i like to keep everything professional.
