Community Highlights: Meet Jerri Reid of Naked Buttah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerri Reid.

Hi Jerri, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
If you had told me years ago that I would be building a skincare brand, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. My journey has been full of unexpected turns, but each one has led me exactly where I needed to be.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for helping people feel confident. That passion first led me into the beauty industry, and later into medical school, where I developed a deeper appreciation for skin health. Those experiences challenged the way I thought about beauty and ultimately inspired a new vision.

Starting Naked Buttah wasn’t just about creating skincare. It was about creating something that reflected my values. I wanted to build a brand that encourages people to embrace their natural skin and make self-care a part of their everyday lives.

Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had to learn that success isn’t a straight path. There have been unexpected delays, moments of uncertainty, and lessons that tested my patience. Through it all, I’ve continued to trust God’s timing and stay committed to the vision He placed in my heart.

Today, I stand as a founder with a deeper appreciation for the journey than I ever imagined. Every experience has shaped not only the brand but also the woman I’ve become. This is only the beginning for Naked Buttah, and I’m excited to continue building something that inspires confidence, authenticity, and healthy skin from the inside out.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t change the journey because every obstacle made Naked Buttah stronger.

One of the biggest challenges was learning that building a product takes far more patience than people realize. I experienced manufacturing issues, packaging delays, shipping setbacks, and products that didn’t meet my standards. Some of those delays lasted for more than six months. It was frustrating because I had a vision, and I was eager to share it with the world.

There were moments when it would have been easier to settle or rush the process, but I refused to put my name on anything I wasn’t completely proud of. I wanted every product and every detail to reflect the quality and experience I envisioned for Naked Buttah.

Those challenges taught me that entrepreneurship isn’t about avoiding obstacles. It’s about learning how to navigate them with patience, resilience, and faith. I truly believe that everything happened in God’s timing. The delays weren’t meant to stop me. They were preparing me to build a stronger brand.

Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t rush the process. Soon, when customers experience Naked Buttah, they’ll be receiving products that were created with intention, care, and a commitment to getting it right.

As you know, we’re big fans of Naked Buttah . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Naked Buttah is a skincare and body care brand created to help people feel confident in their own skin. We believe self-care should be simple, intentional, and accessible to everyone. Our collection includes facial skincare, rich body buttahs, nourishing body oils, exfoliating body scrubs, and self-care essentials designed to leave your skin feeling healthy, hydrated, and cared for.

What sets Naked Buttah apart is that we celebrate all bodies. Our mission isn’t to encourage people to hide behind filters or chase unrealistic beauty standards. It’s to remind people that real skin is beautiful. Pores, texture, stretch marks, scars, and every part of your journey deserve to be cared for, not covered up.

Our goal is to create products that don’t just improve your skincare routine, but also improve the way you feel about yourself. From the moment you open a Naked Buttah product, we want it to feel like you’re choosing yourself. We believe that when you take care of your skin, you feel better, move with more confidence, and show up as your best self.

What I’m most proud of is that Naked Buttah was built with intention. Every formula, every ingredient, and every product reflects our commitment to quality and our belief that skincare is more than a routine. It’s a form of self-love.

At the end of the day, Naked Buttah is about celebrating every body and making you feel good, literally.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
For a long time, I played it safe. I think a lot of people do because the fear of failing can be stronger than the excitement of succeeding. But I eventually realized that every successful entrepreneur had one thing in common. At some point, they took a risk and believed in themselves before anyone else did.

Starting Naked Buttah was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. I invested my time, my energy, and my own resources into a vision that existed only in my heart. There were no guarantees, no roadmap, and certainly no overnight success. I simply had faith that if God placed this vision in me, He would equip me to see it through.

Today, I don’t see risk as something to fear. I see it as an opportunity to grow. Every challenge has taught me something valuable, and every step outside of my comfort zone has brought me closer to becoming the entrepreneur I was meant to be.

My advice is simple: bet on yourself. If you believe in your vision, be willing to take the first step. The greatest risk isn’t failing. It’s never trying at all.
