Community Highlights: Meet Kay’Dee Durham of Kay’Dee Speaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kay’Dee Durham.

Hi Kay’Dee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Faith got me to where I am today. Allow me to tell you what happened the exact day it was reignited. So, walk with me real quick!

It was a Friday night. I just got off of work and in my mind the background music was “Johnny Kemp’s Just Got Paid” I kid you not because ya girl just got paid! I was headed to go chill with some friends. About half a mile from the light at the intersection, I heard God tell me to “slow down” so I did. Not too long after that, a truck coming in the opposite direction makes an illegal turn and totals both vehicles.

I saw the accident getting ready to happen, so I closed my eyes and prayed. I told God that if He spares my life, I promise to give it back to Him.

And He did. This one thing I do know, if I didn’t slow down, I wouldn’t be here speaking with you today. The only thing that was damaged on my body was a minor torn muscle with whiplash.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This walk has not been an easy walk but I’ve been living up to that vow to Him ever since.

Those friends, that lifestyle, cravings and the likes were removed and it took me some time to be alone with just Him for me to actually find my purpose. And when I did, He began to exchange all of what was old for the new. It was hard just relying on Him without any of my old friends to call or running to what was familiar.

So, I began to rediscover me again. I took some time for me to be rebuilt, better, stronger and bolder. After receiving from Him who I’d be and what I’d do in life, I honestly felt a sense of freedom like I never have before! That’s the reason why I travel the world speaking life into others and inspiring them to be who they were called to be by helping them igniting their purpose!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Kay’Dee Speaks, Inc.?
As a preacher, teacher, transformational speaker, leader, poet and author, it was only right to start Kay’Dee Speaks, Inc.

There’s joy in the pursuit of purpose. Being able to speak all over the world brings a fire of passion that burns inside of me that just reassures me that this is what I am supposed to be doing.

Now don’t get me wrong, I was shy when I was a young girl but people always told me that I had an amazing personality. It wasn’t until my adult years that I actually understood the assignment. Within these boundaries of business and a background in hospitality, I am just not only able to go into churches to preach and teach. I go into Fortune 500 companies and give them principles that they can apply to their lives and also to their businesses. The youth is the future, so they are also getting inspired.

I love what I do. This one thing for sure is this, each of us were placed here for a reason! What better place to find your purpose? What better place to feel your passion? What better place to live and enjoy living? According to our design, we’re all intricately detailed and there are no duplicates! What better place to be authentically you and get paid to do so?

Dreams are meant to be lived when they are in alignment with your purpose and passion.

When it comes to my destiny, favor has always worked in my favor. It’s an advantage that I have on my side. Even when some things don’t go my way, I still trust that the favor upon my life will work in my favor. And guess what? It always has.
