Community Highlights: Meet Leah Edwards of 7:Elite

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Edwards.

Hi Leah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve worked in retail since I was a teenager. As I grew in my career, I realized I wanted more for myself. That’s when I decided to go back to school. After receiving my Bachelor of Science in Fashion Marketing, I had the desire to continue my education. Pursuing my Master of Science in Global Fashion Enterprise. While in graduate school, it was my mission to start my own business immediately after graduation. And I did just that. Moving from Philadelphia to Atlanta, it took me two years to open my first brick-and-mortar. Scariest yet the most fulfilling decision of my life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! This journey has been filled with ups, downs, tears, sleepless nights and many bumps in the road. Unwarranted and unsolicited advice from people who don’t share my vision. And some of the most honest and genuine gems from complete strangers. Encouraging me to keep going, no matter how hard things get. In all honesty, if this journey was a smooth ride, I probably wouldn’t appreciate it as much. There have been many eye-opening experiences and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. I’ve learned a lot.

As you know, we’re big fans of 7:Elite. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a curated women’s boutique, which caters to style-conscious and fashion-savvy women. Our merchandise assortment consists of unique and eye-catching threads. What sets us apart from other boutiques is the in-stire experience. Our store is bright, colorful and unique. You would have to visit is to see how aesthetically pleasing it truly is. We are one of a kind.

We are most proud of our new line of merchandise, exclusively sold at 7:Elite. It’s called I Am God… I Fight Your Battles. The message came to us during the pandemic. It was a mantra and daily reminder of knowing who you are and whose you are. Knowing that we are divinely protected. No matter the obstacles or tribulations. As a way to give back, we want to share this message with the world.

Our 3d puff I Am God… I Fight Your Battles design is featured front and back. On a soft cotton blend shirt. It’s unisex fit and the word to describe it as, DOPE!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes! Be ready to pivot at any given moment. Don’t limit yourself and be creative.
