Hi olubunmi, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey has always been rooted in serving people. Professionally, I’m a registered nurse with over 16 years of experience, and creatively, I built BoomsyCreations into a successful event planning and design company that has allowed me to celebrate some of life’s most meaningful milestones with families across our community.

While I loved creating beautiful events, I began asking myself a deeper question: What happens after the celebration? I realized I wanted to create something that would leave a lasting impact long after the decorations came down.

That desire led me to create My Mother & Me—a purpose-driven initiative dedicated to strengthening family relationships, fostering meaningful conversations, building confidence, and creating intentional spaces where love, healing, and legacy can flourish across generations. What started as a simple vision has grown into a movement that brings families together through thoughtfully curated experiences, storytelling, and community.

Building My Mother & Me hasn’t been without challenges. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had to balance business, motherhood, a demanding career in healthcare, and life’s unexpected transitions. Those experiences have only deepened my passion and reinforced my belief that families need spaces where they can reconnect, be encouraged, and create lasting memories together.

Today, my mission extends beyond planning events. I’m building a brand with purpose—one that inspires stronger families, celebrates meaningful connections, and leaves a legacy of love that can be passed from one generation to the next. I truly believe that when families are strengthened, communities are strengthened, and that’s the vision that continues to drive everything I do.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into the entrepreneur and leader I am today.

Like many business owners, I’ve experienced seasons of uncertainty, financial sacrifice, long hours, and the pressure of balancing multiple roles. While growing my businesses, I was also navigating a demanding career in healthcare, raising three children, and rebuilding my life through significant personal transitions. There were moments when I questioned whether I could continue, but I remained committed to the vision God placed on my heart.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that purpose often grows through adversity. Every obstacle has strengthened my resilience, deepened my faith, and reminded me why I do this work. Those experiences have made me more intentional—not just about building successful businesses, but about creating something that genuinely impacts people’s lives.

Today, I see those challenges as part of my story rather than setbacks. They have given me a greater sense of empathy, perspective, and determination to build platforms that encourage families, create meaningful connections, and leave a lasting legacy.

BoomsyCreations is a full-service event planning, design, and guest experience company specializing in creating intentional, beautifully curated celebrations that leave lasting memories. From milestone birthdays and weddings to corporate events and luxury social gatherings, we believe every detail should tell a story and every guest should feel valued.

One of the most meaningful expressions of our work is My Mother & Me, a purpose-driven initiative created to strengthen family relationships through intentional experiences, meaningful conversations, and community. While BoomsyCreations focuses on celebrating life’s milestones, My Mother & Me focuses on strengthening the relationships that make those milestones meaningful. Through signature events, storytelling, and family-centered programming, we’re creating spaces where love, confidence, healing, and legacy can flourish across generations.

What sets us apart is that we don’t simply create beautiful events—we create meaningful experiences with purpose. Whether we’re designing an unforgettable celebration or producing an event that inspires connection, every detail is intentional and centered on making people feel seen, valued, and connected.

What I’m most proud of is building brands that reflect my heart for service. As a nurse, entrepreneur, and mother, I’ve learned that the most meaningful work isn’t just about creating beautiful moments—it’s about creating lasting impact. That philosophy guides everything we do.

As we continue to grow, our vision is to expand My Mother & Me into a nationally recognized platform that brings families together, encourages deeper connections, and leaves a legacy that extends far beyond a single event. At the same time, BoomsyCreations will continue delivering exceptional event planning and design experiences that celebrate life’s most meaningful moments with excellence and intention.

This is only the beginning. As we continue to grow both BoomsyCreations and My Mother & Me, I’m excited to expand our impact through experiences that strengthen families and create lasting memories. One of the projects I’m most excited about is our upcoming My Mother & Me: Family Edition Holiday Gala this December, which will bring together parents, children, grandparents, and extended families for an evening centered on connection, celebration, and legacy.

My hope is that our story reminds people that the greatest investment we can make is in our relationships. If we can help even one family grow closer, have one meaningful conversation, or create one memory they’ll cherish forever, then we’re fulfilling our purpose.
