Community Highlights: Meet Leon-Quince Michael Holmes of Skating Iz Essential Media Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leon-Quince Michael Holmes.

Hi Leon-Quince, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
July 2020, I decided to begin a rollerskating platform to help promote the skate life in Savannah, GA. However the universe had other plans for now the platform is worldwide, touching over 50 million accounts & growing. I was blessed to achieve 100K followers in the span of two years. Now I have been skating since the age of five but to have a prominent platform dealing with a skill I love & am passionate about is a bit surreal.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t. I’ve faced a few obstacles with being the new face of roller skate world videographers. The 1st obstacle I faced was from my home city of Savannah, the lack of support was surprising however expected. The 2nd obstacle was a sense of competition when my only goal is to further the skate culture & community, hence the brand name “Skating Iz Essential Media Group.” With that said I’ve learned a lot in two years & it’s only up from here.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
“Skating Iz Essential Media Group” is a company that specializes in bridging the gap between the world as we know it & the skate world as many don’t know it via cinematography. We film, edit, & promote skaters from all over the world. Recently we branched out from only rollerskating content!! We now offer rollerskating, skateboarding, in-line skating & ice skating content to the world.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I believe I will be achieving the same milestones as Chad Ha, CEO of @skatelyfetv has achieved & more…not comparing us, however I look to his platform for inspiration often.

I see my brand in locations where passports are required.

I see a clothing line attached to the brand, not just for skaters but for the world to enjoy.

I see my brand giving back to the community outside of the skating rink.
