Community Highlights: Meet Rádio Brazil Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rádio Brazil Atlanta.

Hello Rádio Brazil Atlanta, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We started the Web Radio Brazil Atlanta last year in the middle of the pandemic. We tried to get the Brazilian community closer and also giving the information about what was going on to our people. There’s a lot of people that don’t have time or even don’t understand English, so we started to translate the news in Portuguese. Also, we have 1 hour of English Class live every week to help our community to learn English.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Very challenging. Specially for the moment, we were living. We were working hard to build a trusted relationship with our community. So basically, we were working every single day nonstop and spending our money on it. Trying to show the community our commitment with them.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
So we are a web radio and we have been supporting the Brazilian community with information, English class, culture shows, coaching. We also interview people of the community. We advertise as well some places like grocery stores, restaurants, college, real estate. Every week we have an Immigration Lawyer that responds questions live and a real state that gives good information about how to buy your first home. So, basically it’s a place where the Brazilian community has a lot of information.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
We are launching a podcast. It’s a girls podcast, where we talk about everything in women universe. With something different from the radio, where we can laugh and talk about everything.
