Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Baskett.
Hi Tiffany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I used to teach 30 classes a week while working a full-time job and dealing with my son (as a toddler). I was burnt out and going from space to space looking for a “home” to teach movement and grow a community of transformations. I opened The Fitness Collective in the neighborhood where I went to high school, my mom lives up the street and I bought a home around the corner. I wanted this space to be a safe haven of wellness in our own backyards where other fitness professionals could also grow their homes and people can connect. The Fitness Collective brings the sleek Boutique Fitness environment but with a lot of love, respect, and healing inside. This studio is a place where we can learn, grow, and elevate together (without having to drive 30 minutes across town) with people who look like US!
Each instructor/professional that shares their passion here are actually their own small business individually. They each have their own LLC and bring their expertise and education to provide high-quality, results-driven experience for every client. As we build together, we continue to elevate our Health Consciousness and eliminate self-consciousness. Soon, I would like to provide a multi-level space where everyone who has an interest in helping people feel good from their core can do so collectively!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a super smooth road because I opened the doors to The Fitness Collective on January 7, 2020 and two months later, we had to shut down due to COVID. I had to quickly pivot everything online and make sure we kept ourselves and the community safe while still providing our heart-based services. That was a challenge but we are still here, we are still growing, and we are even more dedicated to being a hub for wellness of all kinds. It was certainly a challenge to find the groove between being in person and online, losing a couple of members and teachers and still having products available.
I know I am absolutely excited about what’s to come and I look forward to opening the doors of the studio daily to an even broader audience, to support our community and to remain rooted in our integrity.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Fitness Collective and True Align Wholistic Life?
As the founder of True Align Wholistic Life, owner of The Fitness Collective ATL, and Buti Yoga Master Trainer, I am a zealous advocate for women of color in wellness. I am most proud of the fact that I can create opportunities for other professionals to share their passions and experience with the community. I am a Mom, NeuroMyofascial Specialist, and Yoga Trainer/Mentor. I truly believe that every voice deserves to be heard and every life deserves to be lived so we can all come from a deeper place of self-love to then spread love to others.
At True Align, I incorporate multiple methods (massage, physical therapy, energy work, yoga) into each session to quickly rebalance the body, mind, and spirit for the best results possible. True Align is more than just a physical practice, we are an integrative wellness, healing center that taps into the power of energy medicine and hands-on neuromyofascial therapy in a 1-on-1 setting to address your healing as a whole person, not just an injured body part. If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was very outgoing and active. They say I never met a stranger and always had a smile. As a former dancer, pageant participant, and debutant, I was raised with poise, kindness, and manners. However, there were many times I jumped outside the box and did things my way. My family has been known to reference the fact that I “march to the beat of my own drummer” on many occasions. I loved to read, dance, laugh, and sing, which I still do to this day!!! Come try a Buti Yoga class with me and really see me in my element!!!
