Community Highlights: Meet Unnati Patel of Nested to Rested Sleep Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Unnati Patel.

Hi Unnati, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I had no clue what path motherhood would take me on. I had my first through IVF in 2017, left my day job once mom guilt took over and became a stay at home mom, had my second through IVF in 2019, and then the pandemic hit. So it was basically one thing after another and motherhood kept throwing curveballs at me thinking I could handle them with ease. That was not the case AT ALL.

I personally struggled with my daughter’s sleep and therefore used my research background and experience to learn as much as I could on pediatric sleep. I used those tools to improve her sleep and get my son on a strong foundation after bringing him home. Believe it or not, I got him sleeping 7-8 hour stretches by two months and he continues to blow my mind and sleep so well at the age of three. Someone, please knock on some wood for me.

I used those skills to help family and friends until one day a friend suggested I do this professionally. The pandemic has just hit us here in the USA and I knew I would have a lot of time on my hands since we were not going to be going out much. So I decided I would enroll in a program and within 24 hours, I was enrolled!

I started Nested to Rested Sleep Consulting in April 2021 and since then have helped hundreds of families feel well-rested and thrive in parenthood. I feel like I have found my path in motherhood and I want to help others find their way as well.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Every business has a bumpy road and mine is not any different. There was a learning curve when it came to setting up and making my business functional. But 1.5 years into it and I feel like I finally found my way and my 2023 vision for my business is looking very promising.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the creative owner and founder behind Nested to Rested Sleep Consulting. We are a pediatric sleep consulting business that helps families with their child sleep between the ages of 0-5. We educate, empower, support, and create well-rested families that are able to thrive in parenthood.

I use my research background by providing them with the latest and most informed tools they need to improve their child’s sleep. My favorite age group to work with are babies under 6 months. I just feel like the mother and baby are just so vulnerable at that time and need support the most.

I offer a variety of services to make sure I serve as many families as I can. They include 1:1 sleep coaching where we work together for 3 weeks at a time, courses, group coaching, consultations, and memberships. I want to make sure everyone can afford sleep because everyone needs and deserves sleep.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe that what is meant to happen will happen. The road ahead has already been predetermined but the path you take to get to the finish line is determined by you. You are left making decisions that test if your road will be bumpy or carved to perfection. Every decision is a risk and that risk has good and bad luck associated with it.
