Conversations with Antavia Lauren

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antavia Lauren.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
So I’ve always been a huge foodie. Like to the point where good food makes me cry lol. Around February 2021, my then-boyfriend, now fiancé encouraged me to make a food page. He was like “you’re always eating out, you document your food all the time, so might as well.” Well, I listened and in March 2021, I launched my food Instagram and Tik Tok. I did not expect the growth to come as fast as it did, especially on Tik Tok. Just within 2 months of posting, I had restaurants reaching out to have me come and review them! Now a year and 4 months later, I have 37,000 followers on Tik Tok, around 5,300 on Instagram, and I’m consistently partnering with restaurants, and brands. This is now my main source of income!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, it’s been a smooth road. I would say the tough part is that it’s such a saturated niche. Every day I’m seeing a new Atlanta food creator that I’ve never seen before lol. On top of that, social media is so unpredictable you never know how good or bad a post may do. So for me, sometimes it’s hard to not get in my feelings if a post of mine doesn’t perform as well as I thought it would.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In addition to being a food vlogger, I’m an actress. That is where my whole heart is and what I moved to Atlanta for! So I’m constantly auditioning, just waiting for my time to shine while pursuing my other passions and hobbies along the way.
