Conversations with Dej Graay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dej Graay.

Hi Dej, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
First my real passion is to dance but one day my friend who’s cousin so happened to blow up in our city and was basically giving me motivation to rap after hearing my freestyle to a song I met him hear I was on the low playing around on beats when I got bored or jot down bars before I went to sleep so it was never in my plans to actually do this in a way it was always in me just never knew.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I started my rap career, I didn’t have my own beats so I was using instrumentals which had me at a major block I had a video and photo shoot planned when I dropped a freestyle to the where ya at song by drake and future but the song got blocked due to copyright issues so I had to start all over with the song and moving forward with my music.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m mostly known for my style when I walk in heads turn and the past couple years wearing a bucket hat which I have a song to dedicate to my vibe at the time of my career.

What makes you happy?
Seeing and hearing people happy makes me happy truly I try my best to make sure everyone is satisfied makes me comfortable knowing everyone and everything is ok.
