Conversations with E-Jay Mills

Today we’d like to introduce you to E-Jay Mills.

Hi E-Jay, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
E-Jay Mills takes all that was great about the old-school singer-songwriter/producer formula and repurposes it into something that is uniquely his own. In 2009, he was a winner at the world-famous Apollo Theater and went on to release two successful independent albums, ‘Who is E-Jay Mills’ (2015), ‘Unbroken’ (2019), zoom Zoom and Questions ( 2023) perform in venues across the U.S. , additionally, he went on to perform in two theatrical productions “ The voices of Donnie Hathaway” and “ Mahalia”

Growing up in the thick of New York, E-Jay Mills was exposed to a range of genres, and inevitably has left a lasting impression on his current work. He’s been singing for as long as he can remember, realizing both his gift and passion from a very early age. By the third grade, he was already taking home first-place songwriting trophies. This passion for music grew exponentially, and now manifests itself as his life’s purpose and his destiny. Today, his aim is to create a brand that changes the face of entertainment as we know it, redefining what it means to be an independent artist.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been smooth
In an industry full of rejection, E-Jay has managed to turn their nose into yes. He has learned to write arrange produce his own music as well as built his own production company that distributes his music to the public. He’s taking the role on as his manager and his managed to book major modeling gigs such as the Bronner brothers as well as major platforms for performances.

Known for his electrifying performances sining and dancing live , E-Jay is most proud of staying true to himself.

Also being limitedless in the industry. Since 2021 he expanded from just being an artist to modeling and acting.

What matters most to you?
What matters most of me is creating a brand that people can trust.
I love that when people hiring me they never have to question if I would do my job or if I will show up. I’m there on time and prepared.
