Conversations with Fran McMiller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fran McMiller.

Fran McMiller

Hi Fran, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been a clean and organized person. About 3 years ago I decided what could I do to help others keep their homes clean, organized and smelling fresh. One day I woke up and said today will be the day. I came up with the name Pink Allure Cleaning Services. I love the color pink and allure meaning powerful, attractive quality that draws people in from the name. I got my LLC, advertising my services and things have taken off from there, with happy satisfied customers.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It wasn’t smooth at first, because you have to earn people’s trust and without proof of your work when you’re starting out. Things could always be better and only with time.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m currently working full time as a Postmaster at the Post Office (26 years) and eventually I will retire. I’m trying to run a cleaning business at the same time. I like to go out to the customers home and explain my services in which I offer, whether it’s a regular cleaning, deep clean, or specific area they would like done. I enjoy doing the clean myself, so that way I could see how things are done before I send anyone else or train them to clean the correct professional way. I’m most proud of sticking to what I said I wanted to do with this cleaning business but not all the way there just yet. What sets me apart from others is that I go above and beyond for my customers, I treat their home like its mines.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Make sure you are ready to put the hard work in and the rejection you may get, stay consistent and focused on the end goal. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
