Conversations with Heidi Harris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heidi Harris.

Hi Heidi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have been a photographer for over 20 years. After purchasing black equipment over and over, I got curious. Was there any light stands available in other color besides black? When I realized the answer was no I was inspired to make it a reality. This is how Surrounded By Light was born.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Surrounded By Light is brand new! We have just begun our journey introducing the brand and getting the word out!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Over years, I have developed my own photography brand. I have also developed a school and daycare photography company, Silly Goose. With my own brand works, I am proud of the range of subject matter I am comfortable shooting. With Silly Goose, I am most proud of the team of assistants, photographers, and operational staff that we have collected. Working amongst and with other creatives has always been very important to me.
