Conversations with Larry Earl Jackson Jr

Hi Larry Earl , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

Larry Earl , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Larry Earl Jackson Jr, born in Atlanta Georgia and raised here since 1981. My parents never married but both had the last name Jackson. My mother’s side of the family is originally from Georgia but my Dad’s family is from Louisiana. I attended school with artists like Young Joc , T.I. and Nivea. I quit high school at eleventh grade continuing my education practicing for my GED and that’s when my career journey began. My success began as a homeless College student practicing for my GED. One day while traveling to Marta bus transit in Atlanta I entered to ride and spotted a flyer at the back of the bus. The flyer read that if I was practicing for a GED I could attend Atlanta Technical College to take up two trades.I was excited about the opportunity and the trade I took up was Carpentry to learn building homes because I didn’t have one it seemed perfect for me. While attending Carpentry class each day the teacher would always ask where is the book I needed for class , but I continued to share reading with other classmates. The last weeks before continuing that semester a Church “Grant Chapel” bought me the book I needed before finals. The teacher then asked why it took so a time to get the book and I told him I was homeless without the money to purchase and was without a GED. That teacher told me if he had known he would have bought my Books and he then weeks later paid for my GED. I didn’t pass the entire GED the first time and so my mom gave me the $16 to complete and then I passed the test to receive my GED before graduation from College trade school as a Carpenter. 2500 or higher to pass the GED and I received the GED with a score of 2500. While practicing for my GED in my earlier years the opportunity for a scholarship if I passed the practice was given to me. Those teachers who gave out the practice test pulled me in their office and said that I marked all answers right to all five subjects of 25 to 50 questions each. The teachers said that I erased an entire writing skills subject test changing the right answers to wrong answers causing me to fail the test but that I was a genius because they seem that I would not have missed one answer if I did not erase the correct ones missing my opportunity for a scholarship and to be top 20 in the country to do so missing no answers. After graduation from Carpentry I continued my education for Business Management graduating with a Human Resource Management Specialist certification which I have 8 classes left to receive an associate degree. Instead I joined the Small Business Marketing Management program graduating three times within five years. Also while attending college I became a Parliamentarian for the (DECA) Development Education Collegiate Association. I then competed in a DECA tournament being the first to win a business research contest amongst all technical colleges of Georgia. After winning I was awarded $340 and a plane ticket to California to compete against the technical colleges of the world. Though I didn’t win in California I received a certificate of participation and enjoyed Disneyland Hilton hotel . I told myself I would never enter an airplane unless I was going to California, on the Westside of the nation and my wish was granted. I became the Student Government Association Parliamentarian for Atlanta Technical College after learning Robert Rules of Order from the DECA Parliamentarian position. During my time at SGA I was put in the Atlanta Technical College magazine twice. After flying for the first time and receiving my wings I went and purchased my USA passport and the only place I’ve been outside the country is West Africa The Gambia year 2016 I stayed for two weeks enjoying Marketplaces , restaurants, beaches and the zoo. I held on to the bible verse Revelation 11:18 God will “destroy those who destroy the earth”. I refuse to litter at age 18 till this day. I became a recycling coordinator working for the City of Atlanta while graduating the third time from Atlanta Technical College. I became a garbage man , but worked my way to the Mayor’s office as a Recycling Coordinator. I enjoyed networking there so much that I created my business Georgia Get In Connect by collecting business cards from business owners to get them to collaborate.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I was a homeless college student who graduated from Atlanta Technical College 3 times within 5 years. Inspiring many from being homeless by receiving keys to the Mayor’s office of Atlanta in 2018 of Keisha Lance Bottoms. Recycling is a passion that caused me to have visions of a better world and a brighter future for myself and others like you. I’m proud of my website Georgia Get In Connect because its purpose is to help the people unite and gain wisdom by bringing life energy into our communities.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My community activities set me apart from others as a long term goal to improve therapy for first responders. I’m a community activist thriving to bring the people and businesses of Atlanta together with my website.I personally met the Mayor of Atlanta Andre Dickens 2016 and the Governor of Georgia Brian Kemp and his family Marty, Amy and Lucy in 2019. Though I looked up to certain politics as a young man I have now started to inspire my fellow citizens to fulfill my duty by supporting my home state here in Georgia. I’m currently in the process of becoming the great person I’ve sought out to be by creating my website ggetinc.org to help all Georgians. Writing a book, a movie and songs are all on the table for me. While getting everyone’s attention through my website is now my marketing strategy, I have met the Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris who gave me more resources to Georgia citizens and I was interviewed with radio station V103 about my business, proving to myself and to my business being part of the best here in the State of Georgia.

What makes you happy?
Social events and networking makes me happy and I would love to collaborate with more politics as well as celebrities. Increasing generational wealth for black people makes me happy. The American people and those who stand for justice or liberation makes me happy. Continuing to build a great future for Americans makes me happy. The environment in which we live for fresher air and non violence makes me happy. Science education of nature and its colors makes me happy because it goes into detail of possible new discoveries. Also, recycling makes me happy because I’m concerned about a healthy environment, so recycling causes me to be grateful for what I have and to look forward to building a better future. Recycling not only makes me happy, it excites the world on a positive note.
