Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Simmons.
Hi Rachel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started Good Genes Management with the intent of providing a safe space for models to find themselves, tune into their confidence, and to help flourish strong individuals that will change the World. My journey has been fairly rewarding, meeting new people and being a part of their ultimate success of being able to find themselves. God has given me the strength and resources to be able to do so.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has been fairly straightforward. I’ve rebranded about 2-3 times, and had a different team as I’ve grown but each time has been very helpful to find out what I represent and what I want people to know about us. I’ve scaled to where I am today but the support of others and people believing in me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I operate an Elite Boutique Agency based in Atlanta, GA. Good Genes has three divisions: GG Models, A Mother Agency for grooming, developing models & model placement.
The Kind Artists (TKA) Representation of photographers, makeup artists, creative directors, casting directors, wardrobe stylist, location scouts and set designers. Art7Prodn, Fashion & Beauty productions with a focus on mental health and community involvement.
I am most proud of the people I’ve been able to help along the way, big or small accomplishments. That’s what I’m here for; my ultimate purpose. When people meet me and get to know me they always say how I always care too much about people and why I always include others in my decisions or try to fit them in the deal. I always say that’s how I was raised. I was raised to always look out for family and if I’m able to help someone accomplish something, it only makes them a better person and takes me a smidget of my time then just do it. God has a way of always showing me his grace and for that, I’m thankful. I don’t rush anything anymore and I just go with the flow. I like things to be easy. If it’s not, I don’t want any part of it. I have a husband and two little boys at home I have to save my time, energy and love for.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in good or bad luck I believe in God’s divine timing. Everything happens when he says it happens, not because of luck. Because our lives are already planned out for us. We just have the ultimate choice and what we decide from that determines where we are and who were around. We have the freedom to make these choices and with those choices comes the ultimate responsibility to live up to them and just go with the flow.
