Today we’d like to introduce you to Reese G.
Hi Reese, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Atlanta in November 2019, and that move really opened the door for a new chapter in my life. I’ve always been a foodie before it was even really considered “a thing” — I’ve always loved discovering new restaurants, trying different foods, and experiencing new places. For me, going out was never just about eating; it was always about the full experience — the views, the vibes, and the food from my point of view.
In 2022, I officially started my food vlog after being inspired by other creators who were sharing the same kinds of experiences I was already enjoying for fun. Watching them made me realize I could turn something I naturally loved into content of my own. I’m an introvert at heart, but I definitely have my extroverted moments, especially when it comes to exploring and sharing great experiences.
Since then, I’ve been building my platform part-time, creating content that reflects my genuine love for food, travel, and memorable experiences. While I still have a small following, I’m proud of the opportunities I’ve had so far, including collaborating with restaurants and working as a DoorDash ambassador. I also love to travel, and I’m excited about continuing to grow my brand. My ultimate goal is to become a full-time creator, sharing even more of my world through food, travel, and authentic experiences.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Moving to Atlanta in late 2019 meant starting over in a brand-new city without immediate family or close friends nearby, and not long after that, COVID happened. Navigating a major life change while also dealing with the isolation and uncertainty of the pandemic came with its own challenges. I had to adjust, build a new sense of community, and really learn myself in a different way.
There were moments that felt lonely, uncertain, and uncomfortable, especially being in a new place during a time when the world felt so shut down. Building confidence, finding my lane, and creating opportunities for myself took time. But honestly, that journey shaped me in the best way.
Choosing to move to Atlanta was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone, gave me a fresh start, and helped me grow both personally and creatively. The struggles weren’t always easy, but they played a huge role in getting me to where I am today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create lifestyle content centered around food, fashion, and things to do — especially experiences that feel authentic, visually appealing, and worth sharing. My niche is really about capturing life through my personal lens, whether that’s discovering a new restaurant, putting together a look, or finding unique experiences around the city and while traveling. At the core of what I do is sharing views, vibes, and experiences from my point of view.
One of the things I’m most proud of so far is becoming a DoorDash ambassador. As someone with a smaller following, that opportunity meant a lot because it showed me that authenticity and creativity can stand out no matter your platform size. DoorDash recognizing my content and reaching out for their food creator program was a huge milestone and reminder that the work I’m putting in is being seen.
What really sets me apart is my POV. I love creating content that feels true to how I experience things, and I enjoy adding my own personal spin to everything I share. I like to think I have an eye for aesthetics — from the way a place looks and feels to how I capture it — and that helps me create content that’s not just informative, but immersive. I want people to feel like they’re experiencing it with me.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think risk-taking is one of the biggest parts of growth. Sometimes the biggest blessings come from being willing to step outside of what’s comfortable and familiar, even when you don’t have all the answers. For me, one of the biggest risks I’ve taken was moving to a new city and completely starting over. I left what was familiar, stepped away from my comfort zone, and took a chance on creating a new life for myself in Atlanta.
At the time, it was a huge leap of faith. I was moving without having immediate family or a built-in support system nearby, and not long after, the world shifted during COVID. There was definitely uncertainty, fear, and moments where I questioned myself, but looking back, it was absolutely worth it. That decision changed me in so many positive ways and opened doors for personal growth, creativity, and opportunities I may not have found otherwise.
My perspective on risk is that sometimes you really do just have to trust yourself, trust God, and move forward even when the path isn’t fully clear. Risk doesn’t always mean being fearless — sometimes it simply means believing that the possibility of something better is greater than the fear of the unknown. For me, taking that chance was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and it taught me that trusting the process can lead to exactly where you’re meant to be.
