Conversations with Shadows Xoxo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shadows Xoxo.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started getting attention for music in high school. I was out there in the suburbs in Conyers, GA. I use to go by another rap name. But I just changed it Shadows Xoxo. I just felt like I needed a new name. This new name is a change is the start of a new chapter in my music career.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There’s struggles that comes along when you’re trying to make it in this industry. When your back is against the wall, you can either fold under pressure. Or the pressure will make a diamond. I struggled to know what direction I wanted to go in when it came to evolving my sound. I do hear grow when I listen to my new stuff. I just hope the listeners hear the vulnerability.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a rapper/songwriter/music producer. I’m also into fashion, I would say I’m known as the guy that might have the most drip in the room. I’m most proud of just being able to step to a microphone, in the height of rap being popular. I can share my pain, my triumph, my story. I just hope some person hear me or see and it makes them a better person. I’m also known for this music thing when some people meet me in person randomly. They get surprised when they find out I rap.

As of right now, my purple dreads make me stand out from the crowd. Some say I give them Uzi or Juice Wrld vibes. Like I was waiting in line to get into a party in Atlanta & these stoners behind me said I look like Juice & asked me to freestyle for them. I had to give them a couple of bars.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
You just have to be yourself. That’s me like I have purple dreads & like to wear designer pieces. I might evolve as time goes on, but at least I know I’m being me.
