Conversations with Shaquaveous Belcher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaquaveous Belcher.

Shaquaveous, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out in my room pressing shirts on a small swing around heat press making shirts with a vinyl cutting machine. I used to see my fellow classmate / childhood friend always making shirts and many other items and I told myself that is what I want to do. I found interest in it, and I practiced and practiced in my room until I got the basics down pack. I told my mother what if I start a business and I told her different names and she said Spoiled Brat Collections Designs fitted me so well. People started liking my work, so I applied for my LLC, and I got approved in September of 2021 with the name Spoiled Brat Collection Designs. My mother seen the potential in me and she noticed how passionate I was about my business, so she helped me get my shed built from ground up and paid for it. My shed got delivered right after my mother passed away and that really hurt me because she was always a part of my business helping with orders and packing shirts as well. I went from my room to my grandmother’s kitchen, now to my own office with many different machines and different crafts other than shirts. I dedicate Spoiled Brat Collection Designs to my beloved mother Stacy L. Horton.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was never easy for me. I encountered a lot of struggles and losing my mother was my first struggle. After my mother passed, I had begun to lose motivation, and I was giving up on my dream. I was a small business using money out of my own pockets just to even get my business off the ground. Everyone around me thought I was okay but really, I was only suffering in silence. I had a 7-month-old son and my mother just passed away in 2023. The struggles I encountered I honestly did not see a way out. People ask me how did I make it through so many struggles? With the help of God, my son, grandmother and dad.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Spoiled Brat Collection designs specialize in many different things. My most popular item is Direct to Film Prints. Then I offer Sublimation items, car tags, keychains, portraits, blankets, tumblers, pendant necklaces and so much more. I will be offering more things later in the year like embroidery and sewn products as well. I am proud of just not giving up, the odds were stacked against me, and I had every reason to give up but I did not. I look at my old pictures from where I first began in my room, then where I am today and I see nothing but growth and more perfection and it only gets better. What sets me apart from other businesses is that I do everything from the heart, I do it with passion and love. I not only do it with passion, but I build a connection with my customers so that they can trust that I can get the job done and they will love it in the end.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people do not know that I grew up as an only child all my life. I choose my business name from my personality and the person that I am. Something they do not know that I really put my all in all of my orders that I produce, and it is made from love.
