Conversations with Shavon Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shavon Thomas.

Hi Shavon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began with a passion for helping others. As a Registered Nurse, I’ve always been committed to educating and caring for people, but over time I realized my impact could extend beyond the bedside. That inspired me to become a content creator, where I share my wellness journey, including my experience with bariatric surgery, GLP-1 medications, weight loss, and healthy lifestyle habits.

Being transparent about my own experiences has allowed me to connect with thousands of people who are navigating similar journeys. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with wellness and beauty brands while building a platform centered on authenticity, education, and encouragement.

In addition to creating content, I founded my CPR training business because I believe life-saving skills should be accessible to everyone. Whether I’m teaching CPR, creating educational wellness content, or sharing my personal transformation, my mission remains the same: to empower people with the knowledge and confidence to improve their health and potentially save lives.

Today, I’m continuing to grow as both a healthcare professional and entrepreneur, and I’m excited to expand my impact through meaningful brand partnerships, community education, and inspiring others to prioritize their health and wellness.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape who I am today. Like many entrepreneurs and creators, I’ve had moments of self-doubt, learned how to navigate social media algorithms, balanced a demanding career in nursing while building a business, and figured out how to stay consistent even when growth felt slow.

On a personal level, my wellness journey has also come with its own challenges. After bariatric surgery and throughout my weight loss journey, I had to adjust to an entirely new lifestyle while learning to prioritize my physical and mental well-being. Sharing that journey publicly requires vulnerability, but it’s also been one of the most rewarding parts of what I do because people often reach out to say they finally feel seen and understood.

I’ve also learned that success doesn’t happen overnight. Every setback, whether it’s a brand opportunity that didn’t work out, content that didn’t perform as expected, or balancing multiple responsibilities, has taught me to be adaptable, patient, and focused on my long-term mission. Those experiences have made me a better nurse, educator, entrepreneur, and creator.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What I’m most proud of is building a platform rooted in honesty and service. I don’t just share the highlights—I talk openly about the challenges, setbacks, and lessons I’ve learned throughout my wellness journey. That transparency has allowed me to build genuine trust with my audience and create a community where people feel encouraged rather than judged.

I believe what sets me apart is the combination of professional expertise and lived experience. As a nurse, I can provide evidence-based education, and as someone who has personally experienced significant lifestyle changes, I understand the emotional and practical realities that come with them. Whether I’m teaching CPR, partnering with wellness brands, or creating content, my priority is always to educate, empower, and make a positive impact.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe the qualities that have contributed most to my success are honesty, humility, and the ability to genuinely connect with people.

Honesty has always been the foundation of everything I do. Whether I’m sharing my wellness journey, educating others as a nurse, or partnering with brands, I believe people appreciate authenticity. I don’t strive to appear perfect—I strive to be real, and I think that’s what resonates most with my audience.

Humility keeps me grounded. No matter how much I’ve accomplished, I know there’s always more to learn. Every experience, every challenge, and every person I meet teaches me something valuable. Staying humble allows me to continue growing both personally and professionally.

Finally, I believe connection is what makes everything meaningful. I want people to feel seen, heard, and encouraged when they interact with my content or attend one of my CPR classes. Building genuine relationships and creating a supportive community has been far more rewarding than any number of followers or milestones. If I can educate, inspire, or positively impact even one person, I consider that a success.
