Conversations with Wavvii Baby

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wavvii Baby.

Hi Wavvii, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m from Long Beach, California. I started writing poetry, but I was always quick with words and loved hip hop and just music in general. So that quickly turned into writing music. After the first time I got behind a microphone, I knew it was meant for me. I studied my craft. I even went to college and got a degree in music engineering. I never stopped writing or recording, and eventually, I got an opportunity to write in Atlanta with platinum producers and writers. I tapped in even deeper to my craft then I earned my own platinum plaque.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it was not a smooth road. I have been broke, homeless, lost friends, and sacrificed a lot on this journey of chasing my dreams. But nonetheless, I stayed focused.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a rapper and songwriter. I specialize in writing music in/for multiple genres. I would have to say my most notable work to date is for my penmanship on hit Country Song “My Truck” by Breland. I am most proud of my hustle…What sets me apart from everyone else is that I don’t keep myself in a box, I have written country, R&B, pop, and rap records. My latest release “Tonight” – the first Cali Drill record to ever hit airwaves – is a testament of that. The official music video will be premiering on Lyrical Lemonade on June 30th, but people can check out the behind the scenes video here.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My mom is my biggest fan, she has been to almost every show and knows all the lyrics to my songs (I wish she didn’t know ALL of them) lol. She played a pivotal part in how I was even able to chase my dreams. And my pops is the one who found the college I went to for music, which ultimately gave me a lot of opportunities that I still receive to this day. My family and friends. My squad DOB (Dug Out Boys). Specifically my cousins Jay Oh and Kash, they inspire me to keep going. And my manager Steven “Flow” Pacheco, he plays a huge role in everything I do. He always pushing me to the limit.
