Today we’d like to introduce you to Casio Keyz.
Casio, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Atlanta native born and raised on the south side. Started rapping and getting into music while in college at Savannah State University. From there, I was creating songs in my room and perform them at school events and on the radio. I got my name “Casio Keyz” from when I started rapping on beats made on a Casio keyboard. From there on I just stuck with the name cause it always reminds me on how I started rapping. Nowadays, I am artist under Block Bandit Ent. (B.B.E) a new independent record label formed straight out of South West Atlanta. Currently, I am working on a new E.P., music video for my song “New Flex,” and I am about to drop my new single “Profits” soon.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, it’s a grind mentality everyday. Having to get money and put things together to support my craft that includes beats, studio time, and marketing/promo. Getting with my manager Tree to book and put together shows/performances. In this game you have to always be focus and put in the work for what you want. If you’re not working out here making any moves you will become stagnant and fall off. So that’s why my label (BBE) and I are always putting things in place and coming up with new ideas to make sure we stay up on things.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist/rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur. I specialize in being an artist and making music. I love giving depictions or telling stories about my life in my music letting people know what’s going on with me. I use my music to get my thoughts off on what I have experienced or currently going through. Also, I have my own film company I just started called “Gifted Cinema” where my team and I work on independent movies, shows, documentaries, and other artists.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Overall, with everything I am working on I am just trying to stay focus this year in 2022. I think it’s going to be a big year for me. A year of progression to really start getting my music out there more to my listeners/fans. I feel it’s going to be a big year for my label and label mates as well as we start to unfold on things in the music industry around Atlanta, and we hope to start making some big moves this year to get things popping.
