Daily Inspiration: Meet Chad Price

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Price.

Chad, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a child, I always had a love for creating. I grew up drawing, writing stories, playing instruments, etc., but as I got older, my attention turned towards sports. I put art in the backseat. In 2015, I attended the University of West Georgia to play football and to study computer science. Honestly, I had no history or love for computer science and this showed in school. I ended up changing my major to Mass Communications, specifically in film/video. This is where my love for art was rekindled and began to grow. I had classes from sound design all the way to screenwriting and these courses opened me up to a new way of thinking.

Fast forward to my senior year of school, while still playing football, I purchased my first camera. I applied a lot of the knowledge I gained from my cinematography classes to photography and I just began shooting. I shot everything from landscapes, street, sunrises, sunsets, etc. This is what led me to where I am today as a photographer. I love the fact that I shoot many different forms of photography and the people around me inspire me to keep getting out of my comfort zone.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel like the road is just beginning for me. It has been extremely tough to get started in this field. I see myself as an introvert, so pushing myself to get out and meet new people has always been something I’ve had to work at. I believe that I can go as far as I want to with my photography so I’ve pushed myself to jump out of my comfort zone. With so many talented people out there, it can be tough to build a name. This has been the main struggle, but I’m not the type to force anything. I want everything to be organic and someday, people will love what I create and the struggles will mean that much more.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer. I shoot video as well, but I am mainly a photographer. I shoot portraits, sports, landscapes, events, etc. I am most proud of my versatility and use of colors. There is originality in my work. A lot of my portraits are simplistic, fun, and show emotions of the subjects. I also love to play with colors in my landscape and fine art photography.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Atlanta is a special place. I love that you can spend one day in the city and make some life-changing moves. I feel like everyone wants to come to Atlanta because there is opportunity here. I don’t like the crime and poverty, but that happens everywhere. I just want the best for the city.
