Daily Inspiration: Meet Clarissa The Sassy British Soul Singer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clarissa The Sassy British Soul Singer

Hi Clarissa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Saved by Music which has shaped my entire life. From using it as an outlet through the toughest times – to it giving me the ability to travel the world and paving my career on multiple continents.

From performing for friends and family as a child to fronting worship band by the age of 13, fronting school Jazz bands and performing even theatre and opera – I hit the ground running as soon as I was old enough to earn money in venues pitching my show and performing across the UK – taking risks and eventually landing a international residency which changed my life .

Taking me from my little hometown to the Middle East where I grew massively as an artist – Physically/ mentally and sometimes the hard way but nevertheless continued to push on acquiring bigger and better performing opportunities including opening up for a handful of US Hiphop sensations such Rick Ross, DJ UNK & VIC with original music. Also landing a Tunes Arabia Music TV placement called Let’s Jam which was aired all across the UAE gaining hundred and thousands of view and listeners !

During time in the Middle East, I found myself in a pickle – when my then US military asked me to relocate to the United States. With great anxiety- I took a leap for love and flourished a career as an independent artist here in the States – rebuilding my brand / clientele and this year 2024 I have shifted my focus to releasing original music with 19 releases and counting just this year !

Branching out doing mini- tours across the major cities in multiple states ! ATL / LA and NY are in the works for bringing my unique show in multiple formats ..

Can’t wait to see how this all unfolds !

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being life of the party scene and bringing vibrations to nightlife in multiple cities takes its toll – missing family / excessive drinking and dealing with extreme weather.. being an independent has lots to throw at the artist.

Sometimes it’s stressful dealing with clients who don’t understand the logistics or commitment required to host live music – so learning how to advocate and educate talent buyers and build value into the show world is an ongoing battle.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Just talking to people when the moment presents itself 🙂
