Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Hawkins.
Hi Desiree, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my journey back in 2016. I started doing my own makeup the year before and I loved the joy it brought me. I grew up painting and having an appreciation for all forms of art. Makeup is exactly that for me. Since I’ve start, I’ve serviced many clients in many states and will continue to do so. My goal is to travel to new states and share my craft with others and eventually become an educator of makeup.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has been the hardest thing I’ve done so far. For me personally, I had to really learn patience. I was always so ready and eager to do things but I had to learn to practice, educate myself and and take time to grow not only my craft but my clientele.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
When it comes to makeup, I definitely lean more to editorial/SFX makeup. Because it’s always an art to me first, seeing what people do with makeup on themselves and the outcome, it stuns me everytime. These are also my favorite kinds of styles to do
