Daily Inspiration: Meet Donesha Payne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donesha Payne.

Hi Donesha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Wow! Well, before i truly tapped into doing nails, I use to either polish my nails using dollar tree polish and nail art or by the age of 14 my mom was letting me go with her and get acrylic nails. Prior to attending nail school, I was a customer service manager at Walmart (2016). As we know, they have nail salons in the front of most of them. My coworker, Raven and I use to get our nails done occasionally together, however one time in particular; we were there and i use to be the client that never liked my shape and would ask them could “I” fix it.. Well, long story short she was a cosmetologist and told me I should just go sign up for nail school. And here i am today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Through the going on 10 years, there has been many ups and downs, pivoting moments, times of adjustment and overall restructuring but it makes you who you are. I faced issues with salon owners, clients, tenants (now that i have my own salon), dealing with the state/licensure and so much more.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a master nail technician now with over 9 years of experience. I specialize in acrylic nail enhancements, gel extensions, nail art, deluxe pedicures and more. I offer apprenticeship courses where future nail technicians can skip school and sit under me for 8 months to become state certified.

I take pride in providing quality products, superior customer service, providing a relaxing, clean and welcoming environment.

What sets me apart is my ability to speak with women on a soul level with pure love, understanding, and no judgment. My hands are healing and my energy heals others. I relate to my clientele on a deep spiritual level and enjoy pampering their spirit, fingers and toes. My purpose is bigger than just doing nails but being a vessel of the most high for my community.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve always been outgoing, smart, very opinionated, introvert or extrovert depending what’s needed, I enjoy time alone, I’m a country girl so i love outdoors/nature.
