Daily Inspiration: Meet Honey Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Honey Lopez.

Hi Honey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Mia “Honey” Lopez is a powerhouse entrepreneur and wellness advocate from Atlanta, GA.

A proud University of Florida graduate (Class of 2011) with a degree in Telecommunications, she began her career interning at VIACOM/MTV NETWORKS where she fell in love with entertainment and tv production. Due to the cost of living she moved back home and began a career in luxury fashion sales, rising to Director level by the age of 25 working for brands such as SAINT LAURENT, GIVENCHY, PRADA and CELINE.

But at 34, Honey made the bold decision to walk away from the corporate world to fully pursue her passion for fitness, health, and entrepreneurship as she no longer had a passion for the luxury business and wanted to live a more fulfilling life helping others become better versions of themselves.

After surviving an ACL/MCL tear and battling blood clots at age 30, Honey committed to healing naturally and transforming her lifestyle. She later faced another life-changing diagnosis—retinitis pigmentosa which is a rare eye disease leaving her legally blind in her right eye —which tested her resilience but never her spirit.

Now a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, podcast host, and partner in the Black-owned vegan vitamin brand Vitastar, she’s developed three new vitamin gummies ( Blacked Oil & Honey, Seamoss and Ashwagandha/Shilajit) that promote generational health and holistic wellness.

Honey continues to inspire by sharing her journey openly, proving that setbacks can be the setup for something greater.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Before entrepreneurship, she built a successful career in luxury retail—rising to Director level by 25—but behind the elegance of the industry, she faced constant microaggressions and the emotional toll of being a black woman in high-end spaces. At 30, after suffering an ACL/MCL tear and developing blood clots, Honey fell into depression and gained over 60 pounds during her recovery. It was a dark period that tested her physically and mentally.

But she made a decision—to not give up on herself. Through natural healing, disciplined movement, and holistic nutrition, she lost over 70 pounds and rebuilt her life from the inside out. She now uses her platform to empower others through transparency, transformation, and truth. From overcoming health scares to breaking barriers in wellness, Honey proves that healing isn’t linear—but it is possible, powerful, and worth every step.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What do you do?
I’m a certified fitness coach, podcast host, wellness entrepreneur, and social media influencer. I help people transform their lives through natural healing, holistic health, fitness, and self-empowerment. I’m also a partner & Affiliate Program Director for Vitastar, a Black-owned vegan vitamin brand that I helped expand by formulating three new supplements.

What do you specialize in?
I specialize in fitness coaching, nutrition, wellness product development, and creating content that bridges the gap between real-life struggles and long-term health. Whether it’s through one-on-one training, podcasting, or community building, I focus on helping people—especially women—heal naturally, stay consistent, and feel powerful in their own skin.

What am I known for?
I’m known for my transparency, transformation, and tenacity. I gained over 60 pounds after a devastating knee injury and two blood clots, but refused to give up on myself. I lost 70 pounds naturally and documented the journey publicly—earning trust through honesty and inspiring others to take control of their wellness. I’m also recognized for merging fashion and fitness in a way that feels both empowering and attainable.

What are you most proud of and what sets you apart?
I’m most proud of turning pain into purpose. Despite facing depression, injury, microaggressions in the luxury retail world, and a rare eye disease, I built a platform rooted in healing and hope. What sets me apart is my ability to blend style, vulnerability, and strength—sharing body-positive content, health affirmations, and daily motivation across social media. I grew my audience by being real, showing the process—not just the pretty—and building a community that values progress over perfection.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
How to Work With Me

Whether you’re a brand, business, casting director, or wellness enthusiast—I’m always open to meaningful collaborations that inspire, uplift, and innovate.

With a deep passion for fitness, TV, and media, I bring authenticity and energy to everything I do. I’ve had the opportunity to appear on a few TV shows and absolutely loved every minute of it—sparking a new passion for film and television. I’m eager to explore more opportunities in entertainment that align with my voice and mission.

As a podcast host, influencer, and certified wellness coach, I love motivating clients to get fit—mentally and physically. One of my biggest passions is helping people find the right support. Think of me as the “Yellow Pages” for wellness—I connect people with the trainers, tools, and resources they need to transform.

I’m currently looking to collaborate with brands (big and small) that share my love for wellness, positivity, innovation, and fun. If that sounds like you, let’s make magic together.
