Hi India, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am the owner of Girl Code Fashion Apparel. I am coming up on my one-year anniversary Sept 2021, and I’m so excited!! I provide fashionable clothing at an affordable price. I started this business due to my passion for fashion and because I love to shop. After years of brainstorming and rough drafts, I finally launched the business. My business is online and our main source of delivery is via USPS but we also provide pick-up options if you are in the Downtown Atlanta area. I’m still a rookie in this game and I’m learning new things everyday.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business is not as easy as society makes it seem. It’s so many things that you have to get in order before you get started. It was definitely a challenge especially doing it all on my own, but once I got everything up and running it was smooth sailing. It is challenging learning how to interact with my target audience this is something I am still working on. I would say the most challenging thing I encountered was being patient while growing the business because Social Media makes things look so easy these days, but you have to be consistent when creating content and putting out ads. I’ve learned the paid Instagram and Facebook ads help a lot when trying to get exposure. (It takes money to make money) Some days will be better than others but don’t give in.

I am currently a full-time Leasing Manager at an apartment community. I work on Girl Code during my free time after work and weekends. I specialize in selling, I make the customer fall in love with the product. The thing that sets me apart from other apparel companies is my love for fashion and my excellent customer service.
