Daily Inspiration: Meet Jillian Braithwaite

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Braithwaite.

Hi Jillian, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Although JilysCrystals has been in business for over six years, customers have recently been asking why we started creating crystal jewelry. The most honest answer is simple, depression. With a dash of anxiety, in hope to reduce stress during my college years.

These words can seem like umbrella terms but break down into simple solutions when journeying through the art of self-healing. With the help of some of Earth’s most natural possessions: crystals and copper. Wanting to share this love I found for myself with others but for themselves, I began acquiring crystals in bulk and handing them out on campus. After college I wanted to venture into entrepreneurship and a few close creatives recommended I look into wire-wrapping.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A big challenge is physical limitations like workshop-space and the weight of the crystals being hard to manage when dealing with public transportation. Aside from that, the willpower to be consistent in discipline and speak life into myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in identifying patterns in crystals for humans to use. I enjoy pairing multiple crystals together in some pieces to amplify the energy emitted. I find patterns in people, based on their specific needs and goals then pair an accurate piece of jewelry to the individual.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The industry’s future depends not only on the economy but also on where people are emotionally. Crystals are often connected to self-reflection, mindfulness, and personal growth. During times of stability, people may invest more in that journey. During war or prolonged uncertainty, people’s priorities can shift toward immediate needs, which can disrupt that connection. At the same time, some people seek comfort and meaning during difficult times, so it could go either direction, and I intend to be just as committed with either outcome.
