Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Shine.

Hi Monique, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my entrepreneurial journey when I was a sophomore attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I needed money in college so I started doing mink eyelash extensions. After I graduated I knew that I wanted to start a new business but I was trying to focus on getting my career started first. After a year of working in the medical field and being underpaid, I started to plan my exit. I created my current brand Monopoly Boss Market. My business took at least six months to plan and strategize before launching my website. All of which included branding, products to sell, services to offer, my website, etc. I got to where I am today by taking a chance on myself and believing in my brand and products. I’m constantly wearing the products that I sell to promote my business and creating content for viewers/ potential customers on my social media platforms. Nonetheless, I appreciate how far I have come, but I am still looking forward to the future. I will be expanding and adding lash services back to my list.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing about being an entrepreneur is easy. On my journey, I’ve run into issues such as website errors, low sales, and no call no show clients, etc. I feel like these types of bumps in the road come with the territory. The best thing that you can do is learn a lesson from each mistake so you don’t repeat the same errors. You also have to believe in your product and your brand. Even if your sales are not where you want them to be now, stay consistent and persistent. Eventually, people will come shop with you.
